Visited Co .Wexford in Irelands sunny South East ,in early October .
Wexford certainly lived up to its reputation for sunshine ,bright ,clear ,cool days, and with the evenings drawing in ,fabulous skies ,a photographers dream.
Driving on the Hook Peninsula is like entering another world .,peace and quiet ,rolling farmlands ,deserted little roads meandering past the ruins of Norman churches ,isolated cemeteries ,and friendly people.
Highlight of my trip was a visit to Hook lighthouse , an 800 year old structure and still fully functioning .
Take a guided tour and listen while the guide takes you back in time ,to when the Monks from a nearby monastery lit fires on the headland to guide ships into Waterford harbour , climb the winding stairs to experience the view from the balcony .
There is also a coffee shop and souvenir shop on site ,both reasonably priced.
A stellar attraction.Go see.
