august 2010
I had visitors home from england recently to attend a family function. I booked my guests into the Dunroven guest house and was delighted with the welcome they were all given by the lady of the house, Breda. She was most attentive to all requests, extra bedding, vegetarian breakfast, night life advice,(thanks we had a great time on the town, sorry if we kept you up late! )The accomadation was spotlessly clean and most comfortable.
Breda Power, was a gem and invited me to join my visitors on both mornings for breakfast, at no extra cost!! Cummon' where would you get that kinda treatment and we in the middle of a recession, it was brilliant. The fulll Irish was just that, FULL, no limit to choice, plenty of everything served with delicious homemade soda bread.
I will be recommending Dunroven to others and hope they enjoy the same ambience.
Wonderful.
I

A good honest B&B. The Pembroke to Rosslare ferry arrived in Ireland at about 7.00pm so we decided to spend a night in Waterford, about an hours drive from Rosslare.

The room was clean, there was a supply of biscuits and tea making facilities. Breakfast was okay - there were a number of options, and the hosts were welcoming even though I don't think she could understand my middle of the road English accent.

Slight downside is that the B&B is not very central, probably a good 30 minute walk to the centre. But it's on a main road so is only a 5 minute drive and bus' probably pass frequently.

The B&B was the one before last on our trip. It is far from the city and other amenities such as restaurants, pubs etc.
We were sold a bedroom for 3 people but we got a double bedroom, My mother and I could not sleep, she ended up sleeping on the floor. The bedroom was in the front part of the house and light from the street lamps came in through the curtains.
Breakfast was horrible I could not have a full Irish breakfast I had to choose: sausages or bacon or black pudding and so on. When we were done eating we didn't eat all the fruits on the plate (that we did not know came with every single dish, yes: sausages with fruits) the owner gave us a lecture about ordering and not eating everything and wasting food. Then rudely she told us to leave the B&B before 10am (which is the check out time) because she had other guests coming. She didn't say goodbye or anything else.
I sincerely would not recommend this B&B at all. If a person does not like to have guests at their house they should not own or manage a B&B.

A simple good value B&B about a mile out of Waterford.
The bedrooms are clean with all you need, but not fancy.
You will be guaranteed a warm welcome, and they will do all they can to make your stay a good one. They recommended an excellent restaurant (Fitzpatrick's) a short drive away for dinner.
Excellent breakfast - one of the best we had in Ireland, with the best home made soda bread.

Waterford was our last stop before we got to Dublin and this quaint B&B was right off the road on which we came into town so it was very easy to find. The room in which we stayed was the roomiest that we had seen in our travels in Ireland. It had a full sized bathroom with a tub and a nice, big bed. The owners were very nice, informative and sociable. We chatted quite a while over breakfast before we left and were given directions on how to find our hotel in Dublin.

We stayed at the Dunroven B & B with me and three girlfriends on May 16th/2009 for 1 night.

The B & B was charming and in a great location right on the main road and very close to the Waterford Crystal factory! We didn't get much of a chance to explore the town of Waterford , but it looks cute!

Breda, our host, was super friendly and lively and her breakfasts were delicious!

The rooms were a bit smaller but cozy with good bathrooms/showers!
The beds were comfortable as well - and it was nice and quiet in the house.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Thanks again Breda!
