“Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

We just finished 3 lovely days at the Pearse Lodge. What can I say?! A perfect stay. Clean, quiet. Lovely people, both of them. I wish I had met the dog, though... :-)

The pancakes at breakfast were superb with the raspberry compote on the side. It was also available for the porridge, which also included a shot of Drambuie for anyone who wanted something different. Lovely! Also tried the salmon breakfast and the poached eggs. Great fruit, coffee, etc.

Mary had wonderful meal suggestions and we tried as many as possible in our 3-day stay. Hargadon's has fab wine with great meals and you can have a private "snug" -- a little booth. Also Coach Lane -- superb meal by the fireplace. And A Casa Mia for Italian tapas. Try Fabio's for wonderful gelato. A little groc store across the street for wine, cheese, scones, etc.

Wander the river and try some music at the various pubs. Marking at the B&B and then walking the 8-10 mins to the main part of town enables you to enjoy a drink without fear of the police. All in all, I'd love to return! Sligo was immensely charming, as were Mary and Kiernon.

Room Tip: We had the Elm room.

Where to start ? Everything was perfect from the beginning to the end.
Excellent welcome from Kieron, you are not treated as a guest but more as a friend. He gave us a lot of hints for good places to have dinner.
The room : we had the beech room which looks more like a small falt than a B&B room...
separate sitting area (incl. Nespresso machine), design and tasteful furnitures and decoration, big and very beautiful bathroom with walk-in shower, huge bed with excellent sleeping quality.
The wonderful stay continued with the breakfast, delicious, try the yoghurt and the bakery...
For 82€ this is excellent value compared to other B&Bs in Ireland where you pay more an get (much) less. If you go in Sligo or around, stay in this B&B, you will never regret it !
It's also walking distance from the town center.

We loved our stay in Pearse Lodge B&B. Mary & Kieron were the perfect hosts, they made us feel at home from the moment we set foot inside their b&b and they were great throughout our stay. Anything you need, just ask them and they'll help you out.
The Poppy room is the best room I've ever stayed in any of the b&bs I've stayed all over Ireland and the sitting room/breakfast area overlooking the garden is lovely. It made us want to stay the whole day there.
Delicious breakfast (I recommend Pancakes, the Irish Breakfast and the yoghurt).
Very convenient location: only 10 minutes walk from town centre-there's a small supermarket just across the road, which is great if you need snacks, food or drinks. The rooms are super clean and beautifully decorated. Coffee/tea facilities, as well as ironing facilities and free wifi in the rooms make it a 5-star stay.
You will want to stay there and never have to leave. We'll definitely come back and will ask for the Poppy room!

We've had the pleasure to spend two nights at the Pearse Lodge in Sligo.
Mary gave us a warm hello and had lots of good advises for the nights out.
You can really count on her tips for food!
We booked the deluxe room which is big with a separate sitting area (and a Nespresso machine!).
The bathroom is big and bright due to the daylight. Nice shower with enough space.
And; a veryvery big bed with good mattresses.
All was very clean.
Lots of choices for breakfast which also was delicious. You should try her bakery.
All in all I am very happy to have choosed the Pearse Lodge for our stay and looking forward to come back!

Pearse Lodge is a superb B&B. Mary and Kieran are helpful and very friendly. The home is airy and clean, with a lovely sitting room and beautiful bedrooms. Prices are reasonable. A short walk takes you into downtown Sligo, with lively pubs and fine restaurants. The really outstanding feature of the B&B , though, is the quality and flair of Mary's superb breakfasts, which you order on the night before, and which may include her extraordinary special porridge, banana french toast, or other healthy and delicious wonders.

Pearse Lodge really couldn't be any better. Mary and Kieran are extraordinarily friendly and helpful. The rooms are sizable, well-designed, and spotless, and the superior room we stayed in had every amenity we could have wanted. The breakfasts were superb, and the common areas were pleasant and inviting. There were chocolates on the pillow each night and biscuits with the tea service. Parking is very convenient and close to the rooms. We stayed at four B&B's in Ireland, and this was clearly the best. One thing that separates this from other places that we stayed is that the hosts were regularly available and made the breakfast and prepared the rooms themselves rather than having a staff, which seems to be the norm at Irish B&Bs. Truly excellent!

My wife and I stayed at Pearse Lodge for one night in July 2013. Mary and Kieron are wonderful hosts who did everything possible to make us feel comfortable in our short stay. Their B and B is a unique one--incredibly decorated and comfortable rooms, great food, terrific ambience. They provided helpful background about Sligo--its history, culture, music, food venues, places to see.

Room Tip: The rooms are unbelievable--what a treat!
