“Varied”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2014

Donaghy's is a upper class restaurant with a wide variety of meals. The food is well presented and served. Staff are generally Ok but it is very much overpriced.

“Great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

Great food and a definite if on a trip to Sligo. Our waitress was pleasant but didn't go out of her way to be friendly. To be honest she didn't have a great knowledge of the menu either but that aside the food was class. Great steak, plenty of veg served also with the main courses. Unusually they didn't have a dessert menu but had a desert platter with 4/5 small deserts which were delicious. Would have no problems recommending this restaurant but not a place for a quick meal - this is a proper treat when in no rush. They do have a different menu in the downstairs bar which might be a little quicker. Oh and the little loaf of bread that arrives at the start is not to be missed

“Great Atmosphere”

Was a solid contender. Good food and the service was attentive and not overbearing. The wine however was not a good choice on our part..

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

Cannot recommend this place enough. We went here on a recent trip to Sligo and this place was recommended to us. It is lovely and the staff superb. They greeted us in a patient manner and were very professional at all times.

The meals we ate were delicious and it was clear everything was organic and made fresh. We felt the value for money was great and I would recommend this place to everyone.

“Slightly disapointing!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2014 via mobile

We ate here over March bank holiday weekend to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary - I had looked up the menu online in advance and set my heart on lobster which is on the ala carte menu - booked our table for 7pm - arrived and were seated promptly - didnt appear too busy - approached by waiting staff to take our drinks order then approached by a different waitress 4 times in 10 mins to take food order - felt like we were being rushed - eventually after being allowed to look at menu was disappointed that there was no lobster - our waitress returned and gave us the specials which was just lamb shank - we ordered queen scallops for hubby and seafood platter for me - then over heard another waitress read a different set of specials including t-bone steak and black sole to another table - our dishes arrived - couldnt fault hubbys dish of queen scallops on angel hair pasta - very tasty - my seafood platter was ok nothing special - a mountain of veg and potatoe was placed between us ala wedding style - considering hubbys dish wouldnt have sides!!we were finished eating for 25mins before our plates were cleared (they had gotten busy at this stage) we asked for dessert menu and were told they dont do one but we could have a dessert platter and the girl rolled out a list of desserts (half of which were wrong) we ordered too - mini creme brulee was lovely the rest of the desserts consisted of a chocolate lollipop (literally looked like it was thrown on the plate), a plain meringue drop, a blackberry (yes just a blackberry) and a biscuit filled with cream - while I could see where it was trying to go none of it tied together!best part of the meal was the little loaf of bread and sweet chilli jam given prior to the meal!
