“Nice country B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2012

Very nice, clean, spacious B&B. Lovely hosts and a great Irish breakfast, our last before we left Ireland so it was a great one to go out on! Even though there is a pub at the front of the B&B, we heard nothing so it was lovely and quiet. The town itself was very sweet, a handful of nice pubs but just be aware, nowhere to eat! Make sure you have dinner before you arrive! Very nice stay.

Very nice authentic B&B in the middle of Coolaney. There is not much to Coolaney village, a few pubs, some shops and bizarrely tons of silly houses. O'Grady's is a throwback to a more authentic world. The room was perfectly clean and the shower and towels were fine. Jerry and his family are very welcoming. The pub and shop are part of th esame building as the b&b. It is a b&b, so don't go expecting Spa treatments, but if you want a warm welcome, good breakfast and the ability to have a pint before you go to bed, this is the spot.

Actually it was 2002, not 2003 but this form only goes back to 2003. At the time O'Grady's had their own website and we located it while planning a month long driving trip in Ireland. The picture of Mrs. O'Grady "pulling a pint" probably sold us. We loved the place, Mr.s O'Grady, the town, the music across the street, the little park by the river, etc. etc.

We stayed there two nights and made Coolaney our headquarters while exploring Sligo and the lake country during the day.

One night Mrs. O'Grady offered to take my wife to mass while I stayed back and had a pint and watched "football" (soccer) on TV in the pub.

A delightful place in a delightful town populated by delightful people.

This place is worth a visit - here you get all under the same roof, except dinner. But if you are willing to have a 1,5 mile walk, there is a nice restaurant at The Mountain Inn.

Under the roof of JJ o'Gradys you'll find a pub, a grocery store with off license - and a nice B&B. An if you're hungry at night and don't want to go elsewhere - of course they fix you a sandwich in the pub.

The B&B is rather comfortable, the room was spacious and the bed OK. There was no coffee making facilities in the room, and if I had been allergic to air fresheners, I'd probably feel attacked in this room... But those two were the only minuses.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good. JJ is hereby recommended to others travelling in county Sligo!

  • Liked — The combinationof B&B, pub and store!
  • Disliked — Missing coffee making facilities
