“Wonderful overnight stay in Sligo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

My inlaws live in Sligo and it is no longer possible for us to stay with them whilst visiting. My husband had stayed in a couple of other hotels in Sligo but as we had our teenage daughter and her friend with us I chose the Clarion as it had more suitable accommodation. We were SO delighted with the hotel. Check in was trouble free and we were upgraded to a 2bed suite which was amazing. A twin room a room with king-size bed and a livingroom with kitchenette in between. It was just perfect for us, we all had privacy and my son was supposed to be travelling but was unable to could have slept on the sofa bed in the living room and we would all have had decent privacy. We ate in the restaurant and had a delicious meal, we were all happy with our choices and our server Caroline was very attentive. My only gripe was that the Irish coffees were not up to standard and I had a brandy in the bar and it wasn't in a brandy glass. The barman apologised for this. The girls and husband used the pool and jacuzzi and I also went to the gym with the girls. Breakfast was a buffet and was fine, I've had better but I've also had worse. Girls said sausages weren't great quality but there was plenty of choice. Will definitely consider this hotel again when were are next up visiting - this is going to become a much more regular occurance so hopefully the prices remain good so we can return.

Stayed here for 4 nights. In a 1 bedroomed suite...really spacious. There was 3 single beds & 1 double bed, travel cot and still loads of room. We enjoyed our stay here but there is a few areas that could improve...Food in restaurant was ok but would not choose to eat there we had dinner included 2 nights and only for that we would have gone into town. Kids club runs at the same time as inflatable dragon..so kids could not do both...But the girls in kids club are super friendly...the girls in leisure pool could learn form them. reception very friendly but kept getting quoted different prices....

Room Tip: Wish id remember the room...

Spent 2 nights in a very spacious suite while in Sligo to attend a wedding. Reception staff very helpful and a good breakfast buffet. We took a taxi to and from the town on first evening but walked into town the next morning.

Room Tip: Suite is a good idea as it has sink, microwave and fridge

Travelling as a single on a group tour I was given a good sized clean room with King size bed and small seating area. The bathroom was on the small size with a shower over the bath. This is the normal thing in this part of the world.
Hotel position is on the river with all rooms having a view, be it to the industrial side (which I had) or towards the town and bridge (which my friends had). Close to the main shopping/city area.
Requested a wake up call which I didn’t get, nor anyone else in the group that I spoke with.
Breakfast was basic - cereal, juices, small amount of fruit and small choice hot buffett.
Two restaurants on site. Free wifi available in rooms.
Everything comfortable enough considering only a one night stay on tour

Stayed with my family in July 2014. Overall everything was fine and the staff are very friendly but the place itself is very odd. The whole facade is quite intimidating and the room was very gloomy with little natural light coming in. Everything was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was fine. There was a smell of bleach mixed with chlorine in the corridor outside our room - we supposed from the swimming pool - but that was no big deal in itself. Excellent coffee at breakfast. Can't fault the place but it felt kind of eerie with the long corridors, big high ceilings and little light I wouldn't go back.

This hotel isnt far from the town center it is a nice walk during the summer. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful apart from cleaning staff and bar staff who didnt seem to want to speak to us. As we stayed during the fleadh week the hotel was as expected very busy. We had lunch in the bar, the food was good and waiting staff more than helpful even though they were rushed off their feet nothing seemed to be too much trouble.Twelve euros for a main meal which was very reasonable. Our room was large but sorry to say could have been cleaner. Bedside lamps full of dust,There was crumbs on the carpet when we arrived from the previous occupants and even though the cleaner had been into our room to clean for us the crumbs stayed with us for the duration this might be to some people being fussy but for the stars the hotel have it should be better. The shower was ok and even though the fleadh was going until the wee hours we still managed a good night sleep which was good. The location was good but
expected more for the price we paid. Overall a good hotel
