Check in was a bit on the slow side, and we had to pay up in full, Eu 149 (V expensive for one night) as the card machine couldn't pre-authorise my visa debit card. I like to pay on checking out, and this facility should be available for all customers.
Was booked into a small suite on the first floor. Used the stairs, and found the carpet worn. Went through another corridor, and experienced a drop in temperature. The room was cold, with breezes coming from an alcove/nook and cranny of which there were many, The heat was turned off, and I awoke frozen to the bone at 4am. Heat came on again at about 7am, just when it was time to get up. My 12 yr old daughter was sleeping on a sofa bed, and she complained that it was too short for her legs, and that it was hard to sleep on. Our bed was very comfortable, was a pity about the cold. Food in the bar was good, but the artificial fire in Kudos was a bit of a joke. Bar staff very pleasant to deal with. however, Kudos itself is not really a cosy bar.Breakfast was very good, and nicely cooked, but would have liked a fried egg, not a scrambled egg. Upon check-out, having been told 'that's paid'. That was the extent of the farewell greeting from the girl at check-out. I was not asked whether I was happy with everything. Not good enough, Clarion. Stayed one night only because Sligo Park full. Sligo Park is still my no. 1 hotel in Sligo,

Room Tip: If travelling with 2 adults and 1 child, ask for room with double bed and standard single. The sofa...

Dear Sarasatecarment,
Thank you for your review. I do apologise for the delay on check in and that you found your room cold, we do provide extra heaters on request. It is important that we know the ages of children so the appropriate bed can be made up to accommodate them. I am glad to note that you liked the food and the service. We do provide fried eggs on request as they are not suitable for holding on a buffet.

Best Regards

After booking I had read reviews and was tempted to cancel. I was travelling with three older children 15, 12 , 8. I had booked one of the 1 bed suite and was concerned. I rang and asked was there suites without connecting doors and we were allocated 3155. The bedroom was large with a double and single a TV and a round table and 2 chairs. Our youngest son was a little poorly the second night and we requested a camp bed . Even though this was requested at 10 o'clock they had no camp beds and brought a single bed up. There was easily fitted into room and still space for table. Staff were excellent.

There was a large entrance hall with bedroom bathroom and lounge entered off this. The lounge had a small kitchen area with two small fridges one mini bar style and a microwave and kettle. We had breakfast included so did not really use. A dining table and two arm chairs and a bed settee. The bed settee is a little tight for 2 older kids to share. This also had a TV

We had no trouble with noise. The heating was perfect with adjustable radiators which meant room was lovely and cosy.

We ate in the bar restaurant Kudos and meal was nice and good value but not the menu downloadable on site. As it was Good Friday next day we eat in the restaurant not a lot of non fish or meat options so kids opted for takeaway pizza. My husband and myself dined there and atmosphere good but the mains whiting and the vegetarian option were only ok.

A good hotel with nice leisure centre with good value suites with breakfast included. I would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

Room Tip: If concerned about noise ask for non connecting door. If older kids and there is 3 request extra bed...

This was my second time staying in this hotel. I always try to stay in a different place when i work in different Counties but the clarion once again was coming back at the best price, The pool is lovely and relaxing, some hotels have great pools but are sometimes packed with classes and babies,The Clarion was not. The only let down was the breakfast, I can not remember if the breakfast was as bad the first time i stayed but i was realy disapointed this time. there was not much of a selection and it was also a tad cold.My room was also nicer the first time. This time I stayed in 6141 or 4161 at it was at the end of the hotel. Overall i would stay again but next time i might try someplace closer to the town.

Room Tip: dont look forward to breakfast but you could get a lot worse

Had a wonderful weekend recently at the Clarion Hotel in Sligo for my parent's 40th wedding anniversary. All families were highly impressed. We booked as a group, 2 night's b&b and 1 dinner package, the rate was good and included a suite upgrade for everyone. Food and service were excellent. Enjoyed the music in the bar, it was very lively. The giant dragon in the pool was a big hit with the kids. We will definitely be back
