This quaint old pub has the sort of time honoured authenticity that can't be mocked up.
It's all quirky little sections and snugs and must be a joy to take refuge in on a wet cold winter's day. Every area inside has its own unique feel but the snugs are especially appealing with their glass partitions and air of almost total privacy. The menu has lots of appetising choice and specials as well. We shared a platter of their homemade breads with three little tubs of salmon, crab and basil mousse and olives. Our mains choice was the crispy confit of duck leg with rustic potatoes, red cabbage and blueberry sauce. This dish was an absolute winner! As was the apple and berry crumble which followed. Great food, great flavours, good service, reasonable prices and a genuine old Irish pub. What's not to like? One of Sligo's finest eating experiences!
