“Best place to stay in Easky”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

I've been coming back to Easky for the surf since the beginning of the nineties. The challenge has always been to get hold of a good place to stay. When I travel I sometimes stay at luxury hotels but if no good alternatives are available I don't mind staying in a tent on the beach.

However, Ocean Sound B&B really surprised me. its situated 300 meter from the ocean, where one of Europes best surfing spots is situated. The rooms were very nice, equipped with their own bathroom and shower. Super friendly host and great breakfast alternatives.

My best recommendations for this place if you plan to catch either waves, go fishin in the nearby river or maybe a round of golf at the Enniscrone Golf Club 10 minutes away.

ps. If you end up here. Make sure to pay Mc Gowans pub a visit. Classical family owned pub with sometimes great musical nights on Thursday or Fridays.

Keeping it simple is best, three bikers touring book accommodation for the second night of a 600 mile weekend motorcycle run from east to west coast. We arrived 1730 were greeted by Stuart who helped us put are motorbikes into his double garage for security though don't think theft is a worry in that area. Big pot of tea, comfy, warm welcome and beautiful rooms were after a long hard ride in very poor weather conditions brought a smile to are faces. House is spotless, rooms were large with comfy beds and beautiful bathrooms. It was easy to find well signposted and close to the beach only five minutes walk to the village.
Great for us so quite and chilled, would also be great for walkers, cyclists and surfers but with the double garage and beautiful riding roads bikers will love it. Only down side is not the accommodation but the town of Easkey no restaurants just two pubs and a kebab shop but like most wee towns in Ireland they are suffering from Euro Death though don't let this stop you the pubs are great, people are wonderful, helpful, friendly and a mine of information. GO TO THIS B&B IT IS A MUST:)

Room Tip: Quite, peaceful, relaxing and B&B luxury. Has two cats but they are never in the house so if you...
