“Great Conference Venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

I recently managed an event at the Westport Plaza and Castlecourt Hotel. The accommodation, catering and event support were of a high standard. As a venue it's professional, yet very friendly. The staff worked with us rather than for us. From start to finish my experience was a very positive one and I would highly recommend here as a location for a conference. Thanks Ciara, Vinny and staff!

Room Tip: Ask for a non adjoining room when travelling alone.

My partner and I stayed here for valentines weekend and I must say it was an excellent hotel experience. I am a little snobby with hotels, but the plaza was everything I had hoped for in a hotel and more along with it. After reading a few of these reviews.. we did ask for a quiet room when booking as the hotel has road frontage, and we were accommodated on that request, even though it was a very busy weekend. The only negative I have about this hotel is the breakfast choice could have been better.. with more continental choices, more fruits and pastries. And as a personal thing I would prefer pancakes to French toast but that's just me :) Breakfast was only average and didn't live up to the rest of this hotels' high standards. Now to the many positives: The room was reasonably priced. It was extremely large, with a huge bed, flat screen TV, sitting area, patio doors out to the garden and a huge marble bathroom with large strong pressure shower and jacuzzi bath. The staff at all stages were as friendly and helpful as possible, I can't rate them highly enough as this is something even 5 star hotels often cannot master. The bar food was very well cooked, tasty and there was variety so there was something for everybody. There was a very relaxed feel to every area of the hotel. The location is perfect, just inside picturesque westport town with its pretty views and river, and close to lots of activities like places to eat, places to go walking and of course Croke Patrick. I hope to return here very soon if possible and I would highly reccomend this hotel to both families and couples..great experience.

Spent 3 nights here end of May, early June 2013. Accommodation excellent, food first class and staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. I would have loved to give them 5 stars but the carpet in 605 needs cleaned and the light on the shaving mirror kept flickering. Fix the basics please, the rest you do so well! Great weekend!

stayed here for a three nights. Also had a few treatments at the spa too, the relaxation lounge is a really nice area to chill in after a treatment (exclusive to those who have just had a treatment only !) , I could have hung out here all day only the weather was fab, and all those who live in Ireland/N.Ireland know that we have to enjoy the sunshine while it lasts . Had meals in both the Merlot and the bar was ok . Room was really good size , good comfy beds. Westport mid-week was rather quiet all the little shops I feel are losing out, everyone staying in the hotels in town walked around the town in the evening, up and around the streets were all the shops close at 5pm or thereabouts. Whent to Achill Island, was a nice place to run once the sheep and cows moved off the roads.

This was Francis House Children's Hospice's third trip in 6 years to the Westport Plaza. We occupied 25 rooms. The Rooms, Communal areas, Bar and Restaurant were spacious and glistening clean.
The Staff - Management, Cleaning service, Bar and Restaurant were all so helpful, professional and accommodating.
Location for Westport Town excellent.
Food - Merlot Restaurant fantastic. Table de Hote menu very varied.
Bar food excellent.
Food price very comparable to the local restaurants. Wines and soft drinks expensive. Beers reasonable.

Stayed in the Westport Plaza for two nights after the June Bank Holiday Weekend. Really nice hotel with very spacious and clean room. Location is excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate in the bar and in the Merlot restaurant. Food was really good.
We rented bikes from Clew Bay Bike Hire and did the Great Western Greenway (42km) from Westport to Achill. My wife would not be a cyclist and she really enjoyed it. The terrain is really flat and the bike company collect you in Achill and bring you back so achievable for anyone with a moderate level of fitness.
Would definitely go back to Westport and I would choose this Hotel.

Lovely hotel, second visit in as many months and just super for a business stay. Clean, quiet and very comfortable bedrooms. Friendly and welcoming staff throughout. My first stay was in March before the season started and I loved the town. This time, much much busier and atmospheric plus sensational warm and sunny weather! The food here is exceptional and I'm not easily pleased - the 30 euro 3 course dinner is very good value and deffo 5 star standard. Slight downside was the noise from the cabaret at the adjoining Castlecourt but that finished by 11 so not really an issue. Wonderful, highly recommended
