“Very friendly, clean, central B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

We stayed for 2 nights and found all the staff really friendly and helpful. They pointed out ideas of places to visit and walks around the town. Our room was small but very clean and we really enjoyed the jaquzzi especially after our cycle ride on the Greenway! The windows have white curtains which allow light to enter the room - I know lots of folk like this but I prefer sleeping in the dark - our room had a room above it so on our second night we could hear voices and footsteps from folk above.
The breakfasts were huge and really delicious, with lots of variety, I enjoyed porridge with banana and honey and my husband loved the Irish fry up! The B&B is very close to town and really close to the Greenway cycle route

Stayed in St Anthonys with some friends for a night last week and liked it a lot. The owner greeted a group of us and was friendly and very easy going. We had lovely rooms upstairs overlooking the street; the b&b is essentially a well refurbished house with plenty character. Nothing too fancy but well furnished and very clean. There's a great little common room downstairs; again, it's homely and a good place to chill out if you're not heading into Westport. The place is just a two minute walk from the centre of Westport. Breakfast was good also. We stayed in one of the town's main hotels on our return from Achill a few nights later as there were no rooms available; almost twice as dear and without any of the character. Will definitely be staying here again.

Room Tip: Rooms upstairs overlloking the road are very nice

We stayed here as part of a group this weekend, staying in rooms 9 & 10 outside the main house. Overall, the location is great in centre of Westport and we really liked having our own door access to the rooms and to the garden. The accommodation is certainly good and the rooms were spotless. Breakfast was good too. However, it is disappointing that the host was not more friendly with us. After all, friendly personal service is a key reason for picking a B&B over a hotel in first place. While the host was not rude or anything, she never asked us how the rooms were, never greeted us in the morning or thanked us for our custom. If someone is 5 mins late for breakfast, it shouldn't be a big deal either. On that front, finishing breakfast at 9.30am, particularly at the weekend is too early and I expect many guests would prefer the times to be extended. I also think charging 40 euro p.p. for the bunk bed in adjoining room 10 was too expensive.

Room Tip: Rooms 8 - 10 are outside the main house if you like own door access.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Room was very clean, spacious with all mod cons, including a jacuzzi bath. Was perfect after climbing Croagh Patrick. Great choice for breakfast. Must try the pancakes! All staff were very welcoming and helpful. They supplied us with maps and information about great places to eat. Perfectly located right in the heart of Westport town next to the river, with view of Croagh Patrick, and with a peaceful, private garden. Will definitely recommend St. Anthony's to all our friends and look forward to our next visit. Thanks for the hospitality. :)

I can find no faults with this B&B. The location is excellent, the owners are friendly, helpful and more than accomodating. It has recently been refurbished and the rooms we stayed in were clean, spacious with comfortable beds and came with our own private bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and views of the river. The choice of breakfast is excellent, there is the usual cereal, 'full irish' and fruit aswell as some other options which you don't usually get in irish B&Bs including porriage with a selection of toppings and French toast, both of which were excellent. After staying in St Anthony's for 2 nights we stayed in The Wyatt Hotel for 1 night and we wished that we were able to stay on at St Anthony's instead as it was quiter, cleaner and the breakfasts were far superior, I would definitely return!

We came to Westport in mid July with a group of 7 of us. The city is very attractive and very fun. We were really happy with our 3 nights at St. Anthony's. The rooms were all very nice. The location was great, with just a very short walk to the town. As we stayed out pretty late every night, that was a nice feature (plus we didn't have a car). The owner was very helpful to us, making recommendations and arranging for a taxi at one point. It was the first stay in a B & B for some of our group and they were all impressed with the accommodations and the breakfasts.
We hope to get back to Westport some day and if we do, we will stay again at St. Anthony's.

Stayed here for 2 nights last week, very clean comfortable rooms which I assume are newly decorated, or if not are kept up to spec really well.. A clean house and the owner (I presume he was the owner! :) gave us some recommendations for the next day and carried our cases up the top floor - which was much appreciated after a long drive!

Would stay here again.
