“100% Fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2008

This is our 3rd stay at the boulevard and yet again we were treated to the highest standards that we expect from this family run guest house. again i would recommend this lovely place to anyone, the rooms the hosts and the breakfasts are really first class. John, Sadie and Noreen make you feel so at home its a fantastic place to stay in the heart of westport with everything to hand. We most certainly will be making a welcome return to this place we like to call our second home. Thank you so much xx

We loved our stay in the Boulevard. We only stayed one night, but would've stayed longer if we'd had the time.

The room was nice, and the bathroom was HUGE. The location is great (Matt Malloy's is right around the corner), convenient to shopping and restaurants and pubs. The staff was wonderful; they were friendly and gave us some great sightseeing tips for our drive down to Galway. Breakfast was delicious, and we also had a great time talking with the staff afterwards. They were very open and really made us feel welcome. We'll stay here again for sure!

We stayed at the Boulevard for 2 nights in June.
The house is superb, the rooms large clean and tidy.
Breakfast fairly standard but nice.
Having though stayed in basic B&B to 5 star hotels I have always had our room cleaned and the beds made up every day.
Apparently that is not the norm here. It did not spoil our stay but find the reasons for not making the beds up puzzling. See the review around 5 back from this, we were told exactly the same.
Westport is fantastic, and the location of the Boulevard is great.
The Indian down the street was very good, in an old converted chapel.

Just back from a wonderful holiday in Ireland, we stayed in many lovely houses but never in my wildest dreams did I think we would find a place like the boulevard guest house, it was so lovely and special as we were on our honeymoon. W e were in the blue room and it was so great to wake up in the morning and look out at the ducks in the river and hear the birds singing in the trees, the staff were so helpful , they could not do enough for us even played us a special song when we came down to breakfast the first morning to congratulate us on our wedding.
We stayed for four nights and could not have picked a nicer way to end our honeymoon. Thank you again to everyone, especially Sadie and thanks for the lovely gift you gave us as we were leaving. See you again sometime.

We came to Ireland to explore the West coast , and we stayed in some lovely Guesthouses, we used to only stay in Hotels before this but this year we decided to try the B&Bs or Guest Houses and we were very surprised to find some beautiful ones here on the west coast. We journeyed up from Galway to Mayo to find the most charming and welcoming hosts in the Boulevard Guesthouse in Westport, the moment the door opened we could feel the warmth and the welcome immediately, this House is so fresh and clean that you could eat your meals of any surface, it is in a lovely part of Westport town, right in the center but yet on a lovely quiet tree lined street facing the river.
The hosts and staff themselves are so helpful and accommodating we can see why there are so many good reviews about this place. We had booked for three nights but decided to stay another two as there are so many places to see and thankfully through a cancellation we got an extra night in this lovely home.
We would like to thank Sadie and John and staff for all they did for us, (late breakfasts one morning haha) and for giving us a reason to come back. Thanks again.

Five travellers, aged from 25 to 81, stayed at the Boulevard for five nights 5th to the 10th of June 2008.First impressions of the rooms, not quite as clean as they should be. After breakfast, which you have to choose the day before, we left to visit relatives. When we returned to the Boulevard, the beds were still unmade and the rooms had not been cleaned.I spoke to the owner who said "people did not want staff in their rooms", I requested our rooms be cleaned, to which she agreed to do the following day. Next day, same scenario,no fresh towels, beds unmade, rubbish bins full,no toilet roll, excuse this time, "no spare keys for the bedrooms". The following day, success, clean rooms, towels and the beds made. Day four, back to square one, rubbish bins full, beds unmade, dirty towels etc.but they had been in the rooms to close the windows!!! When I complained to the owner, she said "why did I want the rooms cleaning again? it was only the other day they were done, and she wasn't going to keep staff on to clean rooms, when you are only paying 80 euros per night, and no bed and breakfast/guest houses ever make, or change the beds" With that we paid and left. I can only assume from the reviews I have read, that most of the people are actually only staying for one night, and would not realise, rooms would not been cleaned on a daily basis. My advice, if you are staying for one night, it is very average, two or more nights, don't go near the place, we have previously stayed at some lovely places in Westport many, many times, (and they clean the rooms daily!) this is not one of them, very poor, best avoided.
