“Fourth stay. As comfortable and friendly as being in our own home.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2011

Dear Sadie, John and Noreen,

There is no way I can ever thank you enough for all you have done for me and our family. Staying with you is effortless and, more importantly, always great fun. The rooms are spotless and large, the beds are comfy, breakfast is outstanding (please send along some porridge, Noreen) and the location is grand. But the hosts are what make a place special. And you three are the most special hosts I have ever met. Your many kindnesses and all the laughter make every trip something to remember. Am already eagerly awaiting our next visit!

Sadie and Noree are great hosts. They even helped me hunt down my ancestor's property in Westport. Room was large and comfortable and right around the corner from all thegreta shops in Westport. Very scenic location. I would definitely return again. Good value.

So this place was okay, but not the greatest. The location is the best quality as it is near Westport Town Center. The room was aesthetically pleasing. However, it was not the cleanest in the world. The towels smelled of mold, among other things, and the sheets smelled as if they were not changed. Since the towels were unpleasant, we asked for a new set. Upon returning for the day, we noticed the towels were left on the floor in the hallway, which we found gross to say the least. I will say the breakfast was good, options were plentiful, and the hosts were very hospitable. Overall the place was average. A little pricey for what you get compared to the other B&B's we stayed at. I do also understand my wife and I might be slight "germaphobes," but this is not a very hygiene conscious B&B.

We are writing in response to this review where they said " Okay, but not so clean" ,we would like to clarify this please .
No.1 Towels and bedsheets :we have a large walk-in very hot room with a 6ft hot water boiler which is on and of all day for showers and baths, which makes this room so very hot and this is where we keep all our towels and bed linen etc etc..There is no possible way that this couple could have got a smell of mold (which comes from dampness) from our towels and our sheets which come out of this warm room, all our bedlinen and towels are washed and dryed before they are put away in this hot room and then taken out as we need them ,there is no way that there was mold on any towels or bedlinen ever in our House, any guest that stays with us has seen us coming and going out of this hot room because you cant stay in it too long as its so warm in there.
No 2: There was a problem where we left the clean warm freshly washed towels for them: We did not see them when we changed the towels and we left them where we leave them for all our other guests ,and that was just at the entrance to their room where no one else would go but them, folded neatly .We do not go into any guests room without them being there or them asking us to, we ask every morning "is everything ok and do you need anything in your room" there is a sign on the back of all the bedroom doors asking do they need the room cleaned or changed ,we do not go in unless they ask as it is their private place.
No 3: Pricey: We are situated in the center of the town along the tree lined mall with the river flowing alongside and is within walking distance to all amenities ,(no taxis needed to get anywhere in the town) all our rooms are large and all with big ensuites with baths and showers and walk in showers, we have free wifi in all the House and also free on street parking, tea/coffee facilities and TVs in all rooms, lots of free reading of books and magazines to suit all ages in a lovely airy very bright room overlooking the green foliage in the courtyard, surely there is not much more you could ask for ,we know we are very keenly priced for what we have to offer.
We tell all our guests where to go to eat and nice places to see, this reviewer mentioned something they would love to see and we told them where to go and how to get there, and were available at all times as we live here in the House.
We wish them well in their lives together and ask them to try and see the kindness and goodness in people and they will have a better life and we would like to thank you for staying with us.
Thank you Tripadvisor for all the people that come to us through your wonderful site and for giving us the chance to respond to this review. God Bless from the owners and staff.

We only spent one night here, wished we could have stayed longer. If we are ever back this way again, would definitely stay at Sadie's again. What hospitality and friendliness and comfort. We had a charming spacious room. I asked for the name of the CD that was playing at breakfast and was told that it was Sadie's own recording. Next thing I knew Sadie was on the way up to our room, copy of CD in hand for us to play in the car on our way up north. What a lovely gesture. Parking was easy - on the street right in front. Th whole atmosphere was very relaxed and inviting. The recommendations of Mangos for dinner and Matt Malloys for music were spot on. What a memorable evening and night in Westport.

My husband and I stayed at the Boulevard Guesthouse for 5 nights with our 2 year old daughter. We found the Boulevard much more reasonably priced than the hotel which we usually stay at when we visit Westport.

We were offered a warm welcome, asked to choose whatever we wanted for breakfast (we too can recommend the porridge and also the eggs from their own chickens) and shown to a clean and very comfortable, spacious room.

Nothing was too much trouble for the owners, Sadie and John, and Noreen. Our 2 year old daughter was teething during our trip and we missed breakfast one morning because we had been up in the night but when we tried to go into the town to buy a late breakfast Noreen and Sadie insisted on making us a late breakfast at the Boulevard!

Our 2 year old particularly liked meeting the resident ducks, PJ and Paddy.

We want to thank all at the Boulevard, especially Sadie and Noreen for a fantastic stay (and a great craic!).

We will certainly return to the Boulevard next time we are over and can highly recommend this B&B to everyone!

We returned for our second visit to The Boulevard in June 2011 and found Sadie, Noreen and John to be so kind and attentive, especially towards my partner's elderly (but spritely) parents, who were made extremely welcome.
Clean, comfortable bedrooms, ours overlooking the river. It's a lovely place, close to all the pubs, shops etc. Free parking outside on the street.
Wonderful warm Irish hospitality. Would we visit again? You bet!

The Boulevard Guesthouse in Westport is a first rate accomodation! Great location, wonderful and friendly owners, very clean, and fantastic breakfast, and the two extra 'guests' at breakfast were just delightful. We will be back.
