“Great hotel with excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

The hotel is very welcoming from the first check-in. The bedrooms and bathroom were more than comfortable. The cleanliness of the whole hotel was excellent. The food in the restaurant was the best I've ever had in a hotel and many of the guests said the same.
The staff were more than accommodating and very pleasant.

The hotel is in a great location in Westport town and a good base for visiting the area.

We were booked on a "Golden Break" , it was our third visit this year and we hope to be back again in the spring.

I recently took 32 active age clients from our Day Center to Castlecourt hotel and we could not have been treated better. We take two trips away every year and this was definitely the best in the last 6 yrs.The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was unquestionably the best hotel food I have ever eaten! The rooms were spotlessly clean and bright. One of our clients summed it up when she said it should be five star not four. Some even booked in for Christmas before we left they were so happy with the hotel. We will certainly be going back again.

We had a great time, doing as little as possible in sheer luxury, next trip planned already. The facilities, staff, rooms and the restaurant all make it a special place. It is a great central location in a very popular town, with lots to do for everyone.

We stayed here as part of a coach holiday for 4 nights. It was a wonderful place and the staff are so friendly. The front of the hotel is on the main road about 1/2 mile from the town centre. It is a great place, The food in the restaurant is delicious and they are generous with the helpings. All served hot and on hot plates.
Our room was ok, no view outside at all. The windows were coated with a silver frosting and let no light in at all and they opened a tiny bit to reveal a brick wall and you could hear the extractor fans from the kitchens until midnight, they came on again at 7am. Beds were comfy and clean,
Never used the spa, but I did have a look and it looks wonderful. The prices in the bar were not too expensive. The breakfast was a buffet type, you got served with whatever you wanted and there was loads of toast and drinks refilled as soon as you asked,. Some on our coach party have been to this hotel for the last 9 years running, so it must be good.
I would recommend it as a base to visit the area. The tariff was a bit expensive, but we had a good deal with our holiday.

Room Tip: We were in 219 with the windows that let no light in.

When we arrived here first our first impressions of the hotel weren't great. We just about seen the entrance to the car park on driving in and the entrance led us to a courtyard with a fountain and outside siting-Impossible to drive in!!!Hardly any space-cars parked all all around-no pedestrian area so people walking everywhere and sitting outside!!When we finally got to underground car park(very steep hill into it-No lighting-little care spaces)We had to walk up steep stair with our luggage(No lift)-We also spent about 45 minutes on our leaving to find our way back to the area of car park we had the car-there was no signs anywhere to guide us!!After Parking we also struggled to find reception area as car park towards the back of the hotel and no signs to guide you!!We arrived early(check in not till 3) and went to see if we could check in-there was a Que at the reception and only one lady manning it.We arrived back later to check in(we couldn't at the earlier time)it was a lot quieter. The staff couldn't have been nicer-this can be said for everyone we met throughout our stay.We used the spa when we got there! It was gorgeous!! Could have spent more time in the thermal suites though(You can only use them for a hour before your treatments-but by the time you've filled out the questionnaire and changed you haven't got much time as you have to be back out in the lounge 5 minutes before your treatment)Loved their outdoor hot-tub!!!!!We also had dinner in the bistro hotel-it was divine!!!One of the best meals i had anywhere!!!And prices very reasonable. Our waiter couldn't have been nicer!!Our room was lovely we had two big double beds and a lovely big bathroom:)Overall it was overpriced for just b&b and first and last impressions of hotel were bad but otherwise a lovely stay:)

Dear Guest

Thank you for choosing to stay in The Castlecourt Hotel and for your review. I was most disappointed to lean that your first impressions of the hotel were not great but I was delighted to learn that you found the food divine, room lovely, Spa gorgeous and that the staff couldn't have been any nicer. From your review it appears that the courtyard was unusually busy when you arrived as we usually receive such favorable comments from our guests in relation to this and the outdoor seating area.
I deeply regret that you were unhappy with our rates as we always strive to offer our guests great value for money and feel that the rates we offer are genuinly competitive.
Once again Thank you for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the not too distant future
Kindest regards

I am just back after a lovely weekend, where I stayed In the Castlecourt Hotel. I was there to check out the hotel as I have booked it for a family reunion which is due to take place in 2014.
Check in was very efficent and friendly, we were given clear directions to our room which was on the second floor.
This is a large hotel, but at no time did it feel that your were just a face in the crowd. each staff member was so friendly and helpful and always ready to pass on information on things to do locally.
Our room was spotlessly clean, with two very large kingsize beds, which were SOOOOO comfortable.
Our bathroom had a shower over the bath with lots of towels and a bathmat, which I was delighted to see, as baths can be very slippy when wet from the shower.
We ate dinner in the Orchard Restaurant on our first night in the hotel and it was excellent. The Set Dinner menu had plenty of choice and the portions were good. Our server was very pleasant and again helpful.
Even though there was a very large wedding going on in the hotel, it had no effect on the service in the retaurant or the bar.
We moved to the bar after dinner where a 3 piece band were set up to entertain people. They were very good and they had lots of people up dancing very quickly.
Breakfast on the following morning was lovely, the buffet served , mixed fruit, yougurt, cereals, pastries and juices. If you required a hot breakfast, your order was taken at your table and arrived promptly. The Fry was excellent and plenty of variety.
I really enjoyed my stay in the Castlecourt, I am looking forward to staying there in 2014 with my extended family at our reunion.

every chance we get,my husband and i head for westport. we have at this stage stayed in all hotels and have to say are all good but castlecourt is our number one choice for location ,value and the staff are so helpful and friendly, always have time for a chat.
the hotel itself is so clean and comfortable and a odd time we were upgraded at no extra cost if it was a quiet period in the hotel which was a lovely surprise!
