“Best calamari ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

We were staying in Cillcoman Lodge B&B (also very nice place) only 10 minutes walk from the Sheebeen so we decided to have a bite to eat here instead of walking in to Westport. We made the best decision. Even though the pub is quite small and all the tables were taken when we arrived there we were immediately welcome and offered seats by the bar. Had the best calamari ever as a starter and by the time we finished it we got a table. Main courses were lovely as well and although they are only serving food till half 9 they got us from their lovely hazelnut tart with ice cream after 10 o'clock so the evening ended with a perfect dessert!:) The Sheebeen is definitely worth a visit!

“We loved it so much, we ate here two days in a row!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014

This is a perfect spot! We were staying at the Westport Coast Hotel and could walk here. We stopped in for an early dinner and settled into the snug room with 4 adults and 3 children. The staff are wonderful and made us feel so welcome as we relaxed. The food is VERY good and homemade. We came back the next night with other members of our family and had another great meal. Again the staff were kind, accomodating (we called and they kept the kitchen open until we could arrive) and the food delish. Plus we saw a beautiful sunset over the Clew Bay the first night. Must stop here if you are in Westport! We also had just drinks here one afternoon. Great sitting in this pub at the small bar with a fire close by.

had a lovely meal at the Sheebeen today, it was a great day in Westport, sun was shining, nice location and just the kind of food you would expect in a good Irish restaurant. will defiantly be back again.

“The Sheebeen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2014 via mobile

I have been to County Mayo many times. I always make it a point to stop at The Sheebeen for a pint or dinner in season. The bar is very small, which I like and it seems to be populated with mostly local folks, which I also like. Two small turf fireplaces add to the feeling. We have also dinned there many times. Do yourself a favor, order the Guinness Stew, it is just great! The Sheebeen is about a 1/4 mile or so outside the hustle and bustle of Westport. It is well worth the drive or short walk from the Quay.
