i,m not too sure about carrowkeel , while it has some good points it also has many faults
the first impression on check in was very annoying , i arraived at 3pm and opened the door to reception and a short buzzer went off , no problem there the next i new this tall man came out with attitude pointed at the door as if to say close it, there was no hello or welcome , although i had rang them the day before and was advised to book online it took them 5 min to find my booking , i paid my money was offered no advice on facilities or what may be in the local area, i felt i was being intrusive on them. after that i enjoyed my evening with a walk around carrowkeel finding a beautiful river and waterfall right beside us. the next i realised there was a small takeaway in the campsite which was very handy for a treat for the kids but again never knew it was there until word of mouth from the people beside us. the toilets and the ground was kept very clean but the little playground could do with an overhaul. on the following day my patience finally went with this arrogant , patronising owner when at 7.15 i asked could we get some icecream for the kids what i got was a big sigh ,eyes rolled to the sky and a shake of his head. i asked if there was a problem and he said not really we are not that busy in the clubhouse at the moment(he had to walk 3 feet) to the shop, there was 2 people eating in the clubhouse and his partner was helping him. i would not return to this campsite again simply because of this mans attitude if he wants a lesson in irish hospitality go to the campsites in tralee , killarney , westport , or donegal this the way they slould be run.
