“Worst food I've had since the eighties. Bring a healthy lunch yourself! Awful plastic tack in shops.”

Couldn't find a decent place to eat. Ate packet soup yeuk! and negotiated a bit of salad for my 4.50euro sandwich.

“Very impressed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

We went there toward the end of March, and our family was amazed at the Knock Shrine for Our Lady. We went through the museum they had, and it was really nice you need some time to took around everything and read everything. It also shows the life of the people in Ireland during that time. There is also confession everyday, almost all day, there are multiple priest there to hear confession so it does not take to long. The museum is attached to a restaurant where we ate at the food was alright reasonable prices for a tourists place. Don't forget to bring a container for holy water. Make sure you go the museum FIRST before you go see the shrine having that background story really makes seeing the statues more interesting.

“Peaceful place in need of attention”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

The religious significance of this place gives it a tranquil air as most of the visitors are in quiet contemplation. The church of the apparition is very beautiful but the basilica could do with some renovation and in general more could be done to make the area more aesthetically pleasing as much of the grounds look like a concrete jungle (although this may be to accommodate larger numbers of visitors). The surrounds are full of souvenir shops selling tacky memorabilia and there is a shortage of places to approach for lunch. Overall a worthwhile place to visit from a religious perspective but I would be disappointed if this was the focus of my visit to Ireland.

This is a very special place. A place of great peace and tranquility. A place for quiet pray and contemplation. Don't forget to your holy water before to leave.
