“Excellent Irish Pub with great people, food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2012

My family and I visited Campbells at the Reek last week and it could not have been better. The pub has a great atmosphere and is a historical building with lots of family memorabilia lining the walls. The Irish welcome does not get any better with great service and a very friendly owner in Padraig Fitzpatrick. The food was great. We had 7 in our party and everyone ordered lunch from the menu and also had dessert. The portions were generous and reasonably priced and everyone had a great meal. The desserts were impressive too. The pints of Guinness went down easy and our server was welcoming and catered to our needs. Campbells has a very friendly and fun atmosphere. The best part was having an opportunity to talk to the owner Padraig. He is a very charming gentleman and we can't wait to return to talk to our new friend Padraig and all of the very nice people we met at the pub. I highly recommend Campbells!

“Ticked all the boxes - Good food/pint/fire/décor/atmosphere/value/staff....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2012

Ideal after your Reek ascent or even if you are just on a spin and looking for lunch and photo ops of the Reek and Famine Memorial. Really clever décor and layout post refurbishment. Great food and service and lovely fires. Could have lost an afternoon here only had to drive back to town.

“Traditional & charming reataurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2011

Situated practically at the foot of Croagh Patrick, and just a stone's throw from Bertra beach we had passed this pub on many an occasion. Last Sunday we decided to stop off and give it a try.
It proved to be a very good decision. The restaurant is warm and inviting, with a nice open turf fire in the bar area. The staff are genuinely friendly, and efficient. The food was extremely nice and cooked to perfection. The bill was considered very good value.
We will return.

“Campbells Pub, the cutest pub in Ireland.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2011

We recently stopped off at this family run pub at the base of Croagh Patrick, it must be one of the nicest Pub's I have ever been in. Very quaint, full of fabulous old pictures and interesting articles displayed all around. Very very kiddy friendly, and still used by the locals. I would highly reccommend stopping off here for lunch, dinner or just a drink. You can observe all the Croagh Patrick climbers, pop over the road to look at the very emotive famine memorial and stroll down to the ruins of Murrisk Abbey overlooing Clew Bay. A nicer resting place I can't imagine. Padraig, the owner, is very friendly and only too happy to give the history of the family and the area. I wish him well for the future, we will certainly go back.
