Father and daughter stayed in the presidential suite. Beautifully decorated, very welcoming hotel. Perfect first or last stop after entering or before leaving Ireland by plane (Dublin Airport = 45 min drive). Attentive and helpfull personell (I left my Ipad in the taproom and before I missed it, it was brought to me in the restaurant). Good restaurant (wrong knives! One should not attack a good steak with a heavily serrated knife, on the opposite: the knife should not be serrated!).

We had a family night in this hotel at the weekend there was 8 of us there and from the monment we got there we were very well looked after from the desk staff to the owner . the rooms were a little small but dont let that take away from the hotel as the food and staff are worth sleeping in bunkbed if thats all they had we will go again and again and again it is a little gem

Just back from a couple nights in this hotel! Very pretty hotel and great location. Town only few minutes walk! The only gripe I had was my room was tiny, as was the bed! No exageration.... it was the smallest hotel room i had ever seen! Plus a tiny tv that I had to strain to look at as was up so high!
Would recommend this hotel but make sure you get a normal size room and not the box one!!

Just back from another 10 days in this fab accommodation. The staff have to be given all the credit this year, they were great with myself and the kids. They even helped me out with my fussy eating habits. Last year we stayed at the same time of year and there was hassle with night time noise, you could here a pin drop, I don't know if this would be the same i high season. We will be back.

Stayed here for one night and very pleasant it was too! Staff are lovely, really friendly and the chicken curry was the best I have had in a long time! Room was very small but it was grand for what I needed. Couldn't get the wifi to work in my room but not a real issue for me. Overall very happy with the experience

I have stayed here many times. If there is one criticism I have to offer is that any negative comments about this hotel are truly unrealistic. The rooms are not vast but neither is the cost!
Scholars is not about spending time in your room and one would do so at the expense of missing the enjoyment of rapturous hospitality, a sophisticated ambiance, classic atmosphere and surroundings, great staff truly dedicated to doing their absolute best, great company, gourmet food and fine drink. This is a real gem and only the more inexperienced traveller could knock it.

The standards are remarkable high. Do not miss the chance if you have it to stay here. I am reasonable well travelled, have stayed in many a hotel, guest house, country club etc in many nations. Bring a loved one to Scholars, you will not disappoint them in any way.
