Owner description: A beautiful and unique place to visit for those with a love of art or history. The gallery is sited in the former Drogheda Franciscan Church and part of the Friary; known locally as the ‘High Lane Church’. The Franciscans gifted the property to the people of Drogheda when they ended their 760 year association with the town in 2000. The buildings date from the early 19th century, though elements date back to earlier times.

“A gem in Drogheda”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

This is a modern museum located in a deconsecrated 19th Century Franciscian Church. Good collection of items from Drogheda's past and a good varied collection of modern art and paintings of local scenes. Good restaurant facilities

“The venue is art itself”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

Granted it is small but its definately worth a look not many art galleries can boast having their own original white marble alter. Very friendly helpful staff the museum is bright and airy and often shows art by local schools but isnt that a great way of encouraging the future VanGogh's and Dali's. If you are in the area this is a nice way to pass an hour, entry is free and the food is great good selection and yummy homemade desserts and friendly staff, always a pleasent experience.

“A community art gallery with a very good restaurant attached”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

This place is a converted Friary and provides the town with a useful art gallery suitable for travelling exhibitions. At vthe time we visited the upper level accommodated children's art from various parts of Ireland but what there is to see will depend when you visit. There's also a library, inherited from the Friary, which is there to offer you inspiration if you have a little time to spare. It was a rainy day so we had lunch in the restauarant attached to it, which was excellent.
