“Quality yet again.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Our second time staying at the strand was as good as the first. We got a great deal & had a lovely large (deluxe), spotless room overlooking the river, with a kingsize bed, lots of towels, toiletries etc.. Our deal included a delicious 4 course meal in the restaurant & a bottle of wine. As the weather was terrible we decided to stay in the bar & have a quiet night in.. well we were in for a treat & had a fantastic evening/night of entertainment from a local group 'celtic whisper'. The atmosphere was great & we had a really wonderful time. Breakfast offers much more than the standard fare with lots to choose from in cereals, breads, fruits, pastries, cheeses, etc... with plenty of condiments along with the usual hot food.. they had a lady cooking pancakes to order with lots of fruit & syrups to add to the delicious affair that was breakfast.. Check in & out was quick & easy. There was plenty of space in the car park (Sat night stay) and overall our experience was a great one. We will return again when we want a really nice place to stay in Limerick city.

Room Tip: River view

The location of the Strand Hotel was very convenient. An attractive walk over Sarsfield Bridge brings you to the city centre. The Leisure Centre was excellent. It was particularly nice to have a 20m pool. The food on offer was varied and tasty. The choice for breakfast was excellent. The staff were in control and friendly in spite of the hectic schedule over the weekend of my visit (there were three or four major functions going on). The price was reasonable. Thanks!

Stayed here for 2 nights as I had a conference in the hotel. I took the upgrade to executive floor with river view! This was well worth extra €10 as I had already booked room rare river view room.
Being on higher floor view was lovely. Room quiet, did not hear any other guests or the usual banging of house keeping that wakes one up at the early hours!!
Room was very spacious, bed was huge, kitchen had shower and separate bath. Toiletries left and were replaced on second night which is also cut back in many hotels these days. Lovely big tv in room, room service available till 10 and limited menu for 24hrs. I ordered room service and enjoyed sitting by window n watching TV! Room was room only but you could also order breakfast to the room at a reasonable price again unlike a lot of hotels which charge a ridiculous amount for added breakfast!!
Being on executive floor there is access to executive lounge, here comfy couches and TV are where if you want personal space to chill or work is ideal. Free tea and coffee, water and soft drinks in fridge, homemade biscuits and brownies, fruit and yogurts! In the morning you can pop in for a coffee and breakfast muffin !!
From minute you arrive at hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Bar has lovely atmosphere and attracts a lot of local people as well as visitors.... Walking distance to all main attractions, shops and pubs in the city but if heels are too high staff happily order a taxi!!
Hotel has a modern hairdressers which offer 10% discount for guests and a spa which also gives 10% discount! I visited both and really enjoyed experiences!!
Really recommend a stay at this hotel... Great getaway!!!

We stayed here for this weekend and decided to upgrade ourselves to a suite as a special treat.. The junior suite was absolutely fabulous and spotless..
We've stayed here before and it's one of my favourite hotels..
The food, staff, amenities are excellent.. And we'll definitely be staying again in the near future....
We had a slight problem wit noise levels.. But this was dealt wit very efficiently at front desk this morning when checkin out..
Another exemplary stay at the strand...

I have never actually stayed here but am an often user of the swimming pool. I found excellent and also pool staff like swimming teachers and lifeguards very nice. Only downfall pool can get very dirty some times, like once a saw a veruca floating around and also seen plasters stuck to the bottom.

Attended a conference recently and had to park on the road which made me late. Hotel is nice but parking made it an awful experience. Will go elsewhere next time. On plus side food was good. Colleagues found q'ing at end
To get car parking sorted a pain also. It's a shame
