“Another great spot :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

My friends and myself got a great deal for this hotel for bed, breakfast and evening meal. The hotel is central, has a nice bar and the staff were so friendly and so helpful. The rooms (we have stayed here quite a few times) have always been really nice, lots of space, good shower, lots of storage space and not too far from the shops, bars and great night life in Kilkenny. Recommended for a girls night away that wont break the bank. We will be going back soon :)

Good value stay on deal voucher. Rooms reasonably sized but a little dated. Facilities and decor of the rest of the hotel are impressive, built around the ruins of an old church. Good location and ample free parking. Dinner menu mediocre. Good breakfast. Best asset of the hotel, it's staff, could not be more helpful.

the hotel was very busy, on check in we were given a room in the basement of the hotel, we had to take the lift to the 1st floor and then walk back down all the stairs to get to the room with our suitcases. there was no window in our room, it was like being in a dundgeon, i had booked this hotel at least 6 weeks previous. i contacted reception and asked to be moved and was told the hotel was full, told them i wasnt happy that i'd booked this weeks ago, eventually after alot of long silences i was told they had a room but it would be very nosiey. we took the room anyway and there was no noise at all, only the usual noises of people going up and down the corridor, we did enjoy our stay here in the end, the breakfast was lovely and we also had dinner here, it was tastey with good service but maybe a little expensive for what we got.

Unless you are a hen or stag party, stay well away from this hotel. It's very noisy, parties in rooms and people running up and down corridors shouting at 5 & 6am. It was mentioned to staff the next morning but they were not too concerned! On the plus side it's clean and central.

Room Tip: Don't get a room facining out onto the main street, or at the side entrance as it's very noi...

We stayed at the Kilford arms for 2 nights in June, Lovely hotel staff all very nice and polite we had breakfast both days in the amazing dining room with the carved wooden dining chairs really unusual and food great food too. The room was really large and comfortable. With tea making facilities, lovely clean bathroom which has shampoos. Conditioner and body wash suppiled. Also comes with an iron. The only downside was the music playing in the nightclub until 2am which was very loud if you can ignore that its a great hotel.

Room Tip: As far away from the bar as you can get so as to not hear the music.
