great location across from langtons in kilkenny which seems to be a very popular place to go out in, the hotel is good and central, staff are friendly and breakfast was pretty good, not the ritz but it does the job well done guys

Room Tip: look for a room to the back of the hotel the street can get pretty loud

Got a great deal and stayed for a couple of nights, had my elderly mother with me so asked for a room adjacent to the lift, got this was also offered a room with a walk in shower for her which was great, the staff we came in contact with where all very friendly and helpful, breakfast in the resturant was excellent, the evening meal was very good, the hotel very central, free car parking, there is no air con however when we built hotels in Ireland we did not expect to need it lol, it was very hot, we asked for a fan and within 5 minutes it was in our room great service, hotel has a night club, and a bar each side traditional live music was on each night, noise was not a problem, very close to all aminities including the castle, shopping, etc

Room Tip: rooms all seemed to be on the same level, there is no pool or fitness center, this would not be a ho...

I stayed here for one night with friends and my fiance. Hotel is in a great location being right in the middle of all the action on the main street. Hotel itself is more like a B&B. The reception area was pleasant enough (although there is a rotten looking tiger on display). Our room was like a prison cell. The only window was a slit at the top of the wall making the room very dark and potentially a fire hazard. Our duvet cover had a big stain on it but other than that the room was quite clean.

The paint was peeling in the hallway with leakmarks running down the hideous coloured wall.It is really in need of updating throughout.

At €120 per room this hotel is not particularly cheap.

More suited to hen/stag parties and not somewhere for a romantic break.

Also, they had a great photographer as the photos make it look a million times better!!

Room Tip: Ask for a window!

attended this hotel for a hen party. the hotel is in a great location. we had all got a package deal to include meal, cocktail class and pass for nightclub. when checking in it was very quick but we were all put all over the place. we were told we were on first floor and when we got out of lift we had to walk back down stairs with all our luggage to our rooms. the room i had it had no window in it which i though would be "illegal" in a hotel in case of a fire. they had curtains and a window frame but then a brick wall. at lot of girls complaint about the noise also.

we had booked our cocktail class and we weren't took on time and then that left us late for our meal and the man in restaurant was rushing us when we eventually arrived and was a bit rude because we were late but it wasn't our fault.

overall i wouldn't recommend this hotel and i will not be returning again. i have stayed in hotels that catered for hen's before and it was better run.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask if there is a window in your room "don't get caught out"

We went for a two night stay.. The deal was 2 people 2 nights b+b plus 1 evening meal for €119.00
That works out €59.50 each and I don't think that can ever be beaten or should draw any complaints from me or anyone for that matter. The room was small enough but perfect as there was only two of us, the room was well equipped with all we needed. The only downside on the room was the bed was a bit on the "well used" side and could probably do with being replaced sometime soon. (room 92 b.t.w) . But all in all I was well happy with the room, restaurant( for both breakfast and the evening meal ) and the hotel facilities. The staff are very helpful and polite. Kilkenny is a good place I will be back again and due to the perfect location I shall probably use the Kilford Arms Hotel again.

Room Tip: Room 92 is ok away for the road and any noises.

We stayed here on 6th July, we were in Kilkenny for a 30th birthday party. the first room we were given was already in use and was not clean. We were given a second room near the lift on the first floor. At night the night club music could clearly be heard in our room and all throughout the night we had people in the hallway roaring and shouting. The night porter took over an hour to come up and as soon as he left the noise began again. The hotel is located in the centre of the town so perfect in that regard. My advise would be only stay here if you are on a stag or a hen weekend otherwise you will not get any sleep.
