“BEAUTIFUL CATHEDRAL IN KILKENNY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

We had a rainy day, the day we visited this castle so couldn't climbb the staircase outside due to it being too dangerous with the wet steps, but non the less, it was an aspiring sight, especially, more so due to the weather. A very nice and beautiful church inside and we were free to wander on our own. There are many pictorials so you don't need a guide.

“Steeped in history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

This location is steeped in history with one of the best examples of a round tower to be seen anywhere in Ireland. The entrance to the cathedral shows a roll of the fallen frpm the English regiments in the major conflicts. The staff are very helpful and willing to assist in any way. A fantastic view of the city is to be had with a trip to the top of the tower.

“Very friendly visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

Although we arrived almost at the closing time of 4 pm, the staff were most kind to allow us to ascend the 159 step tower with its steep ladders and limited interior space to get to the top which provides a magnificent view of the town and surrounding area. The church itself is impressive and the young lady (unfortunately can't remember her name) who showed us to the tower was most helpful and informative. Definitely worth the little walk to the edge of town to see and climb!
