Stated here with husband and toddler daughter over Easter. We enjoyed our stay. Our room was great...spacious, clean and bright. Only downside is that our room was right beside the lift shaft. It caused some disturbance during the night but nothing major. They have a mini wildlife farm attached to the hotel (chickens, hens, pigs etc) and our daughter loved that! The food was great, good breakfast buffet and the staff were fantastic. I'm not sure whether it was the time of year we went but it is very much a family hotel so probably not the place to go if you're looking for a quiet weekend away!
Didn't use the spa but we brought our daughter to the children's pool. It's quite small and we found it a little too cold as well.
We will most definitely be back there. It is so close to the centre of Kilkenny and a very quick drive from Dublin.
