“Lovely Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2014 NEW via mobile

My overall experience of Foodworks was fantastic, from start to finish. We were greeted by a friendly girl at the door who quickly sat us at a nice table for two and offered to take our jackets. We wanted a light lunch and the menu was appealing, with my only critique being that the lunch menu could do with some more choices. We ordered the Cajun chicken bap and the goats cheese sandwich, both served with chips. They arrived to the table quickly. My chicken bap was great, the bap itself being particularly good. The goats cheese sandwich was flavourful and the portions of chips were very generous. The service was good, with both the waiter and waitress being polite, attentive and professional. The bill came to €21 for two lunches and one tea. We would be glad to go back.

“Mains were Fabulous”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2014

Was just here this week. The starters were really only just below average, my partner had dressed crab, that was barely dressed and very cold as in just out the fridge. I had the crispy chicken, that really did not seem very much more than cut up chicken nuggets and there was way too much balsamic vinegar in the dressing. The salad was ok. However, our mains were fabulous, I had the fish and chips, the batter was melt in your mouth, the fish cooked to perfection and the pea puree was delicious, for me, the aioli had too much olive oil, so could really only have a wee taste of it and the chips were fine. My partner had the monkfish, which was exquisite as was the risotto.
The venue was nice, was sat next to a tree, but that was actually ok as it gave us some privacy and the cushions on the bench were a nice touch, otherwise I suspect my back would have been aching. Service was ok, efficient, with a distinct lack of warmth, which wasn't exactly pleasant.
For sure will go back, for the mains, and hope that the starters are up to the excellent standard of the mains next time.

Irish produce, local if possible and well prepared, what else do you need. We really enjoyed our lunch.

“Nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2014

I've been there for a dinner.
Menu with few options and food not good. Everything was just average and is expensive for what you get.
Will not go there.
