“Good food...good music”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014 via mobile

Food was tasty, hearty and fast! The Irish stew will keep you fed for a long time. I suggest a small bowl vs large one. Service was good, not great, but real reason is to go is the atmosphere. Building is from the 1300's and the courtyard is open and filled with music. Lots of locals as well as tourists so has a great feel to it. Definitely worth a stop and parking is right behind it so an easy in and out of town

“Great spot for a pint and food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Went in with the family for a (sort of, about 8:30) late bite to eat. I was worried that bringing the kids in might be a problem but not at all. The host at the door brought us in and sorted out a table for us where the kids were out of the way but we could hear the music. The food was usual pub grub but was very good. Pints good, music good, all good. Would recommend as a family friendly place to eat in Kilkenny city.

“Ancient Inn with a mysterious past”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

We discovered and lunched at a quintessential medieval pub and restaurant on Kieran Street. We read about the strange past of its original owner, and enjoyed the ancient décor and ambiance.
The food and drinks were great, as well as the service.
