“Great family holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

We stayed for one week in the sand dune cottage with our two kids under 5. We travelled with another family and bungalows were next door to each other with a shared green- fantastic opportunity for kids to mix allowing mum to watch from safe distance!
Bungalow had everything one could ask for. I agree that some of them need a lick of paint but overall they met the needs of the family and then some.
Resort attractions are spot on. Agree the pool is cold but it made the powerful showers all the better- my daughter would have stayed in them for an hour!!!! Food in the bar is ok- the playground is a great distraction for the kids!!
Banna beach is fab and Ballyheague has a fantastic playground along the strand which the children just adore.
We had a fantastic trip. County Kerry is stunning, Banna resort was perfect and the staff were excellent. Thank you!

Room Tip: The wifi in the bar is much better than the resort wifi which is only available at reception.

just spent a third family holiday here and it still doesnt disapoint, the pool and gym are great the astro pitches the kids will love, the beach is one of the nicest in ireland, killarney and dingle great places to visit, try torc waterfall just down the road from the gleneagle hotel, and kennedy farm on the croom road, too many places to name, plenty to do everyday, back to the resort the entertainment was fairly decent and the playground is nice, the only downside to the resort is the outside of the bungalows could do with a lick of paint,if they were coloured differently with pastel colours it would really make a big difference, anyway thats only minor and i hope to be visiting again soo

We stayed here in July in a detached sand dune house. The house was lovely plenty of room for a family of 6. Some of the bulbs were blown and remote not working for tv we went to reception they were lovely and changed bulbs and give us a remote straight away very efficient. The pool is great to have on site and a good size never crowded we could have a quick swim and then sit in the lovely jacuzzi and watch the kids in pool but like previous comments we found the pool very cold and overloaded with chlorine we could still smell it of ourselves when we got home. The children spent alot of time on the astro turf a great area to make friends. We went to see fungi in dingle, aqua dome in tralee, Crag Caves and a spin around Killarney which were all lovely and worth a visit but the children loved to get back to the resort to play with there new friends and see the evening entertainment. We had planned to get a surf lesson on the beach which is beautiful but we ran out of time. Plenty to do on the resort and the surrounding area. Overall I would definitely recommend this resort for a family holiday. We will be back (hopefully to a warmer pool)

We stayed here in June in a detatched sand dune house. The house was great, one double and two twin bedrooms. Two bathrooms. All the appliances worked and the house was very clean. Full size fridge freezer if you plan on dining in the house a lot is handy. Picnic bench outside the house. There were lots of kids around and daily entertainment programme running while we were there but the place was still nice and quiet and pool was never busy. I have to agree with previous posters the pool could have been warmer! Nice jacuzzi, steam room and sauna for the adults. Lovely playground and picnic benches all freshly painted. The indoor play area is great to tire out the kids, geared towards the over 5s, would be nice if there was more for the younger ones in there if weather not great. We didn't go the pub or restaurant so can't comment. The shop is handy for basics, lots of beach\pool toys on sale too. 2 minutes drive to the stunning banna strand. Would recommend Kate Brown's in ardfert and West End in fenit for food. We would stay here again as it is so convenient to have the pool etc on site for the kids, and also close to tralee and dingle peninsula. I'm not sure we would stay in peak season though as I'd say it gets very busy with kids everywhere, and it costs a lot more too!

We just got back from a weeks holiday in banna beach and i was very surprised when i arrived to the house it was a very big 3 bedroom bungalow and a nice big garden area all around with a picnic bench at out the back for relaxing in the sun. The staff were friendly on arrival.

There is a swimming pool, gym, and a kids zone in the leisure centre and a kids park just outside the pub area. The pub has entertainment for all the family every night and a shop and chipper on site as well.

Nice location close to tralee, and dingle. I recommend if u want a lovely meal great value for money go to o donnels pub just on the first roundabout into tralee u wont be disappointed.

The one fault i have about the place was that the swimming pool was very cold for a childrens resort and i don't mind cold pools normally myself but it was to cold. Apart from that i can't complain and well worth a visit if u are down in kerry plus the beach is a 2 minute drive down the road which is always good.

Brilliant base for a family holiday because you can travel to Tralee,Kilarney and Dingle. The bungalow accomodation is fab.Maintenance Staff will attend any faults immediately.Beautiful beach within walking distance.Onsite shop is basic (has wine).Good kids evening entertainment in the bar which opens out to a paved terrace area and then to a childrens playground!!Pirate Petes is a small but adequate indoor play area for smaller kids.Staff are all helpful.Takeaway food fills a gap when your stuck but you may need to go for a drive for a proper decent meal.

Room Tip: Stayed in the bungalows twice....found them great.
