When you go to see a high energy concert, you expect to be able to enjoy yourself by standing up and dancing. Unfortunately, security at the INEC appear to be unable to cope with this and instead, they attempt to single out certain people and force them into their seats. I was in the front row at a concert last weekend, and when anyone there stood up, security shouted directly in their faces in a very aggressive manner until they sat down again. However, in my opinion they then attempted to provoke paying customers by standing directly in front of them so that they couldn't see a thing happening on stage. When they were challenged on this, they threatened to throw people out if they stood up or spoke to them again. This is NOT a family friendly venue as I also witnessed security swearing loudly at young fans and even throwing them out - not because they were causing any harm, but because they were trying to see the artist performing on stage and attempting to enjoy the concert in spite of the brutal security. I had to drive for almost 6 hours to get there, and having an amazing concert ruined by security (who acted more like they were there to attack the audience than protect the artist on stage) was extremely disappointing. Go see the bands you like elsewhere - this venue is a disaster waiting to happen and I worry that one day the security here will go too far and do something that they can't justify by claiming that they are adhering to "house rules." If house rules validate screaming and swearing in peoples' faces, intimidating everyone from young girls to older adults, having different rules for different people (some people were allowed to stand, others were consistently targeted) and then becoming physically aggressive and throwing people out when these bizarre "rules" are challenged, then I would like to think that the INEC might consider reviewing their policies before a member of their audience gets seriously hurt by the very people who are supposed to be keeping them safe. Sadly, I do not think this will be the case as the INEC have already received complaints from myself and others which they have yet to acknowledge.
