“One of the finest hotels I have ever stayed in!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

This hotel is a gem. Having stayed in previous hotels in Killarney before we decided to stay in the Malton to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were greeted at arrival with a happy anniversary and upgraded free of charge and without asking to a junior suite. The room is beautiful and spacious and has a modern contemporary design. The reception area has lots of nice communal areas to relax and the bar has a lovely ambience. Can't thank staff enough for making our stay exceptional! The food is excellent standard. Location is also very convenient for exploring the town centre. However because the hotel is so nice we found it hard to leave. Other hotels should learn a lesson or two from the malton. Top class establishment with old world charm. When visiting Killarney staying here is a must. You will be happy you did!

Stayed in the Malton Hotel In July last year for a family celebration. This hotel is like a touch of Downton Abbey in the center of Killarney
The attention to detail by management and staff has to be experienced to be believed.
The olde worlde charm of this hotel is a joy
Well done to all

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the original part of the hotel if possible, it is like stepping back to the 18t...

Dear Ger, Sincere thank you for your review & so glad to hear you describe our hotel as having a 'touch of Downtown Abbey' about it. It will be 160 years old next year(opened in 1854) so maybe you'll return to us again. Do keep an eye on our website and facebook page for future special offers. Again thank you & hope to welcome you back again soon, Best Regards, Jennifer Egan, Digital Marketing Manager.

Had a overnight stay at the Malton Hotel myself and wife. Upon arriving at the hotel the staff could not be any more helpful to us. Our room at the hotel was clean and tidy and after a lovely dinner in the dinning room we relaxed in the hotel before exploring Killarney. After a very good night's sleep we had an excellent breakfast before checking out the grounds. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and made out stay at the hotel. I will be staying at this hotel again as I loved my time there.

Room Tip: Talk to the staff as they are very good

We have made this hotel our base when golfing in Kerrybecause its like visiting an OLD FRIEND...warm, friendly and genuinely interested...To get the info head to the bar where Declan and Lawerence could only be described as a pair of utterly professional scamps( experts in all golf needs, outdoor adventures, whiskey and mixology) a dangerous combination indeed !!... On Saturday night there was an amazing atmosphere and all credit to the hotel... Bar food top class, breakfast good, room nice....TIPS: Try the wine rooms to spin down after golf. Amazing value charcuterie platter...The Malton, a place to make lasting memories !!!!!!1

We arrived at the Malton Hotel after a long day on the road. Upon arrival we were awed by the gracious looking exterior appearance of the building. The staff at the front reception desk could not have been more helpful and friendly as is the true spirit of the Irish people. Our room was very nice, clean and spacious. The only down side was the location of our room in the rear of the hotel. The amenities in the room were very nice. A towel warmer in the bath as well as lovely soaps and personal items were a treat. We decided to stay and relax in front of the fire in the bar area and ordered a light dinner which was served to us fireside. The food was excellent.

The grounds of the Malton are lovely and there is a glassed conservatory to sit and appreciate the beautiful landscape and flora. Or, if you wish to walk the grounds that is also a delightful option. All in all our stay at the Malton was excellent and we hope to stay there again.

Room Tip: A room in the rear of the hotel, past the second elevator is not optimal. It is a longer walk espec...

I have just returned from a mini break in the Malton and just have to write to advise anyone who plans to visit Killarney in the future to try to book in to this hotel because they wont be disappointed. We had visited the hotel many times in the past few years and had found our perfect room and even though this visit was a" bargain offer "the room was made available. I always thought the breakfast in the Malton couldnt be surpassed but this time it was. The new menu must please even the most critical what a choice! We also appreciated the complimentary cocktail before our superb evening meal. But what really signals our the Malton is the amazingly friendly and professional staff, Please put it on your list of places to go.

Room Tip: Rooms in the old part of the Hotel have more character

We traveled from the states to Dublin then by train to Killarney. The hotel is right next to the train station so it's very easy to get to. The hotel is very nice and the service is excellent! This was by far the best service we have ever received in any hotel we stayed at. The staff there will go out of there way for whatever you need. They prepared a breakfast for us the morning we left at 4:45am in the middle the lobby area. The special care they take to make you feel at home is exceptional!
