Just back from a regular visit to The Malton Hotel. Got a special offer for Bed & Breakfast, with a Main Course & Glass of Wine in the Wine Rooms. Breakfast was lovely as usual and staff particularly in the Bar and Lounge Areas were great. However, the selection of Main Courses available in the Wine Rooms was very limited and I found it quite difficult to make a choice. One other minor issue I had was that after our meal we went to one of the lounges to order a drink and desserts. We requested a half portion of cheese and biscuits, one other dessert and a drink. We were subsequently informed that it was not possible to get the half portion of cheese and biscuits. A little disappointing especially for regular visitors to the hotel.

Dear Guest, Many thanks for your comments and delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. Our Killarney Wine Rooms are a new addition to our services and I agree in that they are 'fun concept' & something different from the norm. They are the only interactive walk in wine cellar in Co.Kerry & we are proud to have it as part of our guest services. We also do Chef evening specials in the Wine rooms, some including a lovely glass of wine chosen by one of our resident sommeliers. Maybe we can tempt you to return one day ? This hotel in the centre of Killarney town is really grand and impressive surrounded by beautiful gardens. Everywhere you turn there seemed to be another room with beautiful chairs and tables set out for guest to relax in. The staff in the Malton were really exceptional right from our arrival. Our room for the night in the Malton was huge as was our bathroom. We had a few cocktails in the hotel bar with staff recommending various places to stop by in the town. Killarney is now one of my favourite places to visit and we had a lovely evening exploring it. When we headed down for breakfast in the garden room we were seated right next to the buffet and we had the most spectacular view of their lush garden. There was a huge selection for breakfast with both a buffet and made to order menu but definitely a major hit was the plain scones with whipped cream and jam!!

Recently spent two nights in Killarney along with another couple. Our stay at the Malton was lovely. The hotel is very close to the center of Killarney. My husband and I stayed in a beautiful room in the older part of the hotel - right over the main entrance. Our stay was particularly enhanced by the gracious assistance of Mary Mac who not only answered numerous questions concerning local attractions but also took great care in arranging transport for us to a local pub where we were able to hear Irish music along with our dinner. Because one member of our party has difficulty walking, she asked the cab driver to check the pub to make sure seats were available and this was done. She also helped us when leaving on the following day. We had stayed at the Malton once before and would happily do so again.

One of the many benefits of a great concierge desk is finding the unexpected. My sister and I spent two weeks in Ireland with many great experiences with B&Bs, restaurants and hotels, most especially the Malton. Mary, the concierge at the Malton, put us onto the highlight of our trip. We wanted to see the local sights and also had seen horses on the streets. She put us in touch with Pat, who conducts tours with his horse, Rose, and a carriage. We went through the streets of Killarney to the Muckross Abbey and House in Killarney National Park, as well as the Ross Castle. The carriage had plastic windflaps to protect us from rain and cozy comforters for our laps. The sound we will both always remember was Pat's calm deep voice saying, "Easy, Rose. Easy, Rose." as the draft horse eagerly pulled our heavy carriage. Pat knew a great deal about the trees and history of the national park, as well as about bonding with his horse. Thanks to Pat and to Mary at the Malton for listening to our requests and really hearing us!

We stayed in this beautiful, elegant older hotel in Killarney for two days. This hotel is centrally located and easy walking distance to restaurants and shops in Killarney. This hotel has much charm. The breakfasts were excellent and the Punch Bowl Bar inside was a great place to relax, eat if you wish or have a drink. We found the staff helpful and attentive.
