We started our trip at Ross castle, here we took a boat trip trough the lakes in Killarney, even with the drizzle the view was incredible and there is something special to be at water level to see the vegetation and birds. There were only four people in the boat, one of our passengers was going to make the trip through the gap in her bike, the bike came with us in the boat.
The boat droped us at a little concession that had hot drinks and food for purchase. This was nice because even in July it was a little chilly when it's wet. I would highly recomend water repelent clothing. I was jelous of the group that had the water proof pants. The umbrella and coat did come in handy.
Here we arranged our ride in the jaunting cart. The ride was incredible, the first half was going up hill, we had views of the villages and went through many cottages and farms. Our driver lived in the route and when he call the sheep it was funny how they responded. The downhill is spectacular, because it had rained all day, they were mini waterfalls comming from everywhere in the hills that surround the valley. It was incredible how green everything is and how beautiful the lakes were. We had plenty of oportunities to take pictures.
We arrived to the end of our trip still wet, cold and hungry. We headed to Kate's Tavern and found a great booth beside a rock fireplace and enjoyed some great stew and dried up. There were even some local musicians at the tavern playing Irish tunes.
We returned to town in an old fashion bus which was driven by a nice couple.
A great outing even in the rain for mom, my 7 year old and me.
