Our group included four families with six children and a nanny. The bedroom were most comfortable an the living area quite spacious. The fifteen of us ate in 3 nights with plenty of room. If you ask her, Mary will give you ideas to keep you busy. The huge property allows the children to run until they can no more. Hint: have Claude prepare some Irish stew for your first night.

My extended family of 11 just returned from an incredible experience at Coolclogher House in Killarny, IRE. Mary and her family welcomed us like old friends and we enjoyed every bit of our stay there. We highly recommend the eggs from the hens on the property, which my daughter got to hunt for and clean a few times while we were there. Also, Mary can recommend an outstanding Irish chef who will come to the house to cook a gourmet meal you won't ever forget.

Approaching the wonderful restored house in an enchanted garden. Not to mention the tree in the house, two hundred years of age!

A very warm welcome, started with a tea in Mary’s kitchen. We stayed in the royal atmosphere of two spacious rooms facing the wonderful garden; in the distance we could see the highest mountains of Ireland. Our two little kids adopted Mary as a second granny; Maurice let them feed the chicken and the racing horses on the ground. We definitely will come back and recommend it to all our friends.

That’s how we always remember beautiful Ireland.

Its like arriving to an Irish Gone With The Wind !! Wonderful 6 day stay.Host-Owners the Harnett Family were so extremely helpful with day trip ideas and Killarney activities.Have not slept so peacefully in years! The Manor is both regal.. fit for royalty and at the same time comfortable and inviting. So secluded and private yet a few minutes from town. Each en-suite room decorated with antiques with amazing postcard views of horses and cattle grazing. This was my first trip to Ireland and can't imagine not returning for a visit to Coolclogher House ! Already planning a family reunion next year..This would make a fantastic destination wedding venue !! Not enough words to discribe how great !!

When I went to the Coolclagher House web site I was extremely impressed. This stately Irish Manor house appeared to be everything we wanted for our home base in Ireland. Of course these sites can be deceiving, but I was cautiously optomistic. Shorty after our arrival I realized the house (and family that operated it) would exceed all my expectations. It was absolutely georgous, from the welcoming gates on Mill Road, to the fabulous acreage and countryside, the stables (with a newborn), to the crown jewel the Manor House itself. Everything you could want and more, and the more just kept coming. Each bedroom suite had it's own bathroom and "blackout" shutters that allowed for the best sleep I've had in years. The rest of the house was designed elegantly but,at the same time, it was very welcoming and comfortable. The country kitchen, where we took most of our meals, is simply charming and started every day in an ideal manner. The location is minutes away from downtown Killarney, an equally charming and fun town (great pubs). There are many terrific towns that are relatively short drives (Dingle, Kenmare, Cork, etc). Also, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the family (Mary, Maurice, and Katie) that own and operate the house, they attended to each and every one of our needs and made us feel like we were part of their family, just wonderful folks! All in all, I would be hard pressed to find a complaint about Coolclagher House, it simply is Irish Heaven on Earth!

What a gem! We were so delighted to have found this wonderful manor house which provided our group of 10 with the perfect setting and comfortable accommodations for a week’s stay. Beginning with Mary and Maurice greeting us upon our arrival there was not a day gone by that they were available to offer suggestions and help to make our visit to the area even more memorable.

The home was spacious and beautifully decorated. The extremely large rooms were more than you would ever expect in a 5 star hotel in Ireland. All rooms were en suite and the beds were as comfortable as anyone could ever expect.

What were unique and brilliant about this house were the options for things to do and just simply how to use the house and its amenities. The Coolclogher House is centrally located just outside the town of Killarney, which if anyone has ever visited Ireland, they would certainly place Killarney as among the top three spots to visit as it has everything. From vast dining and traditional and warm Irish pubs with great entertainment, the journey is only a few minutes away from the house.

In addition, which our group enjoyed doing, was the option of not going anywhere, which was as pleasing and enjoyable as being in town. On some nights, we would just “hang” on the lawn overlooking the beautiful scenery with the horses grazing in the next yard. We would enjoy a “happy hour” of some wine and snacks before retiring for appetizers before dinner in one of the two parlors with a lit fireplace and music. Our dinner, whether it was prepared by all of us (which I highly recommend at least one night) or if you prefer a professional chef from the local town, it was an experience to remember forever.

There is nowhere in Ireland more convenient for day trips to some of the most spectacular sites you will ever see than the Coolclogher House. From Coolclogher you can be in the lovely “culinary capital” of Ireland, Kinsale or travel to Cobh, with its rich Irish Culture and Heritage Museum or finish up at the Irish Distillery in Midleton within 90 minutes time. Or, if you wish, the Ring of Kerry as well as all the other local sites are minutes away, not to mention the great Irish golf courses nearby, including the site of the 2010 Irish Open.

So, if you are looking for something to do 24/7 or more content for a comfortable relaxing week of touring and taking it easy, the Coolclogher House is the perfect place to be. I wholeheartedly and strongly recommend this beautiful site for anyone as I know they will leave with a great sense of satisfaction coupled with a calendar to plan for their next visit.

Coolclogher House is a stunning house in a beautiful location. The home is furnished with lovely antiques/art work. The kitchen is huge and is a great place to sit, relax, cook and have wonderful conversations in. It is fully equipped with an Aga and there is also a log burner which really gives this spacious room a nice homey touch. The bedrooms are beautiful with large king-size beds on which I had the best nights sleep in years and the fact that every bedroom was en-suite was great! The owners also provide a barbeque and the spacious gardens and fields were a delight to walk through with the family dog Jesi. While we stayed at the manor we had many dinners but our most memorable were when we hired caterers which Mary recommended to cook for us in the beautiful dining room. Mary’s daughter Katie sang Irish songs from the area which was a real treat. I cannot recommend this home enough. The location is perfect only five minutes away from Killarney town and the amazing National Park. Mary organised all our trips and was available to answer even the silliest of questions which was a great help. I will definitely be staying here again in the near future.
