What a beautiful place this truly is, and thats with out the Golf! As soon as you get out of the car you are greeted with the sun bouncing off the mountains in the distance and pools of bright sunshine resting on a glorious par 3. ( It doesn't rain all the time!)
Nervously we walked to the club house, not having booked a T time and having seen what was on offer we feared disappointment. However we were met with a smile and a no problem, although busy they would find a way of fitting us in. We stood in reception for about 30 minutes chatting and didn't note the time moving on at all ( Such is Ireland ) we felt right at home.
We had lunch in the unstuffy Club house prior to heading for the fairways. The course was in great condition with stunning views, and whilst a challenge an average golfer like myself enjoyed it's forgiving nature, but what a setting! - Truly enjoyed it and capped it all of with a friendly pint of the Black Stuff.
It will remain a firm fixture on my golfing tour of Ireland. If only some courses here in the Uk could be as friendly and open.
