Loved the place. Would go again. Perfect location - right next to a church - the bells were a treat to listen to. Friendly and efficient staff - even late at night they helped us with the check-in and making a phone call. Kitchen was well-kept and provided for. Clean dishtowels and sponges were regularly available. I was disappointed to see that there was no recycling. This should be changed. When there was noise from rowdy guests on our first night, the hostel staff dealt with the issue immediately. The dining room had picnic tables set up. We were given a room with 3 double beds for our family of five. the bathroom (co-ed) across the hall was clean and shower room was clean (could use more hooks and a shelf in the stalls of the showers). When we had trouble with the water pressure we were immediately allowed to shower in one of the private ensuite rooms (which had been vacated). Even on our last day the pump would have problems but I when I called out from my shower to the staff member in the hall, he immediately ran to turn it back on and the hot water was no longer just dribbling out of the shower head. The first night I spent in a lower bunk and each time my son moved in the bed above me a musty odor would be released. When I slept in the other free bed I did not have to smell that. Also, the room would get very musty when the skylight window was closed - must have been that mattress from that upper bunk. Better lighting for the individual bunks would also be a plus, since the one overhead light fixture made it hard to read at night without bothering others. Loved the WiFi connection. All in all, this was the best hostel of our trip to Ireland.
