“If climbing Carrauntoohil ... go with Kerry Climbing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

Hi decided to be safe rather than sorry and booked a guide to bring us up Carrauntoohil, We didn't really know if this was a bit over the top but having been in Kerry many times and seen a lot of cloud decided it was the right thing to do. Mike was our guide for the day. It was very cloudy as we started off but having Mike with us meant we didn't have to worry, also knowing he is part of the volunteer group with Kerry mountain rescue was also very reassuring. We had a super day out. Mike was great company and gave us good information as we went along. I would definitely recommend for anyone climbing Carrauntoohil who has never climbed before to book Mike with Kerry Climbing. We also liked the fact he took photos which can remind us of the day ... should we every forget ... I think not! But the photos are great to have and a nice touch.

“Amazing climb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the climb. We were lucky with the weather during the Easter Weekend. Mike was an excellent guide. He shared a lot of his knowledge about the local mountains while we were walking. Thanks to him we walked up the route we would never find on our own. Highly recommended for hikers who have some experience as the walk was quite strenuous.

Hi Maria,

Thanks for taking the time out and going to the effort to leave a review of your Corrán Tuathail ascent. You were truly blessed with spectacular weather on the day you climbed and is a real bonus to get the views. Mike tells me you all did superbly well over the whole day so congratulations and a huge well done.

“Fantastic experience.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014 via mobile

We climbed corrain tuathail on Easter Sunday 2014. Mike was our guide for the day. There were 7 people in our group which included our 3 teenagers 19, 17 & 14. It was a beautiful day and the views were spectacular. It was our first climb and we had no experience. The climb was hard in parts but Mike our guide stayed patient with us and got us safely to the top. The views were great and we had a perfect day. I would highly recommend Kerry climbing. Mike was very reassuring at all times. Thank you for a great experience. All the Ryans from Cork.

Hello Mary Anne.
Great to hear from you and to know you and the kids enjoyed your big day so much climbing big mountains! Mike is indeed a fantastic guide and I have passed on your kind comments. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you all as I was giving rock-climbing courses that weekend but happy to hear you were all looked after so well and your day climbing Corrán Tuathail was such a memorable one.

Thank you very much for leaving such a positive review and be sure to get in touch again when planning more climbing Adventures in the South West.

Regards
Piaras

We did the two day climbing course (2nd day howling ridge.. great craic.. but scary!). Piaras and Richard were excellent guides and instructors throughout, I cannot fault them. Would highly recommend going with KerryClimbing, I know we'll definitely be back for more!

Hi Liam. It's great to hear you had such a memorable time and you recommend our services so highly. John also left a review of his weekend spent climbing with us and he seemed to also be buzzing after your fantastic weekend of vertical Adventure. It was a pleasure showing you all lots of new climbing skills and look forward to climbing with you all again during the summer. Cheers for the review, it's greatly appreciated you taking the time.

“Excellent trip with expert guide”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

I couldn't praise our guide Mike highly enough. He knows every inch of the Kerry mountains, and it shows in the way he guided us expertly up O'Shea's gully, describing all of the historical and geographical features along the way. Our group was of mixed ability and Mike was able to keep us all motivated and moving at a pace that suited us all. He kept an eye on all of us, and kept us entertained throughout. There were no slip-ups along the way, but I could tell from his experience with Kerry Mountain Rescue that Mike would have had any accidents or injuries covered. Thanks for an unforgettable day on Carrauntuohill.

Lovely to hear you enjoyed your day on Corrán Tuathail so much and thanks for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. Mike is indeed a superb guide and I will pass him on your message. It is great to hear all the little stories and information along the way and Mike does indeed have a relaxed and easy manner and a wealth of knowledge and experience. Congrats on climbing Ireland's highest by such a fantastic route and hopefully we will see you again soon for another day in these magnificent mountains.

Many thanks again,
