“Great, comfortable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

I usually don't write reviews myself cos I don't have the time but the reason I did was because I was reading others reviews and one person said this place was grubby and dirty and I want to say, I think people should ignore that review cos it was so pretty. Ok. It's not a five star however the lobby could pass for one. It's bright airy and quite big, impressive and gives a nice first impression. We stayed here recently and got a good deal so it was great value for money. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quite nicely decorated. Not too plain or over the top. It's on the muckross road so loads of things to see. We'd originally booked a B and B but I saw this and wanted to be out of the town. It's actually one of the better hotels for prices too. It's impossible at times to get a good deal there with some of the hotels because killarney is so popular and charge extortionate amounts so we were surprised we got it. Whoever runs this does a good job and staff are friendly. It's not five star luxury BUT there are some supposedly four star hotels around killarney that are so expensive yet the oaks is good if not better for their rooms and overall service. The person who complained about this is either deluded or a fake profiler, and this site should be watchful of fakers cos honestly I'd a great time there.

Room Tip: Book last minute, sometimes you can get deals five days before you go but beware it might be booked...

Had the pleasure of attending a wedding here in May, great venue with pleasant staff. Food was superb and the wines enjoyable. Special mention to billy who was a brilliant host and also very helpful when it came to finding a lost item of clothing the day after. Chocolate fountain sweet cart, late bar what's not to like!

Stayed in this hotel on saturday 14th june for one night. Was extremely impressed, very modern, clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the bar food, although a little over priced. Staff very friendly and helpfull.. Left this hotel for dingle on sunday and decided to cut short our two night stay in dingle and return to the Killarney Oaks Hotel for another night. We were given a different room to the back of the hotel, very noisey indeed. On arriving to bedroom we Had to listen to workmen resurface the entire carpark. We felt housekeeping staff were extremely noisey this time with bedroom doors slamming alot.. Lastly, we entered the games room at approx 3.30pm to lots of leftover food on plates. On returning back to the hotel that night at 10.30pm i was dissapointed to see the food still there, doesnt look good. Would possibly ruturn to this hotel but would definitely request a quite room.

We stayed at this hotel as a base when we drove around the Ring of Kerry. It worked out very well. Although we arrived in the mid afternoon and our room wasn't ready for about an hour we were able to sit in the comfortable lobby and use the complimentary wifi while we waited. The staff at the reception desk are very friendly and helpful. Parking was very convenient, plentiful and free. The room was a very comfortable size and our window overlooked a lovely courtyard. The wifi in the rooms works very well and is quite fast. The bed was comfortable and we got a good night's sleep. The television stations are somewhat limited and there is no air conditioning in the guest rooms so they can become a bit warm. The breakfast serving hours were somewhat abbreviated - between 8:00-10:00a.m. However, the buffet breakfast was quite delicious offering a nice variety of cold and hot foods. The hallways can be a little noisy at times and the guest room doors are sometimes loud when they are slammed. However, we absolutely enjoyed our stay and can definitely recommend this lovely hotel.

Sitting on the Ring of Kerry road is the rather large Killarney Oaks Hotel. Parking in the large lot in front is free as is the wifi (excellent). The rooms are large and include modern fixtures, a safe, LCD TV, desk space, and a couch. Ventilation is adequate although we left the window open at night. The staff were friendly and helpful. On weekends expect large crowds and wedding parties. A restaurant and pub is next door. The Oaks is located about one mile from Killarney city center. Since the location is on Ring of Kerry Road you have immediate access to the country road around the Ring. The double bed was reasonably comfortable. Although there are many electric plugs in the room the pug next to the desk is taken up by a lamp and the TV so to use the desk for your recharging you will have to unplug the lamp or the TV. Othere plugs are beside the double bed. The facility is modern, clean, and well-maintained. The breakfast buffet was excellent with take-away coffee available for your trip or room. The price for the room was good compared to other local B&Bs and hotels.

Room Tip: Ask for an inside room for a view of the garden area.

Words can't even express how beautiful everything was at our wedding day on 17/05/'14 the venue, the service, the staff were outstanding and very attentive. Billy & Richard the managers walk you through every step of the process and helped us make everything just how we wanted it. everything was just perfect. The room was beautiful, we were well impressed. We got great reports back from our family & friends how great the food was & how efficient & friendly the staff were. We will cherish the day for the rest of our lives. I highly recommend this venue if you're planning on having your wedding in the Killarney area. Billy & Richard took care of everything, nothing was a problem for them, thanks for a fantastic day guys. Elaine & Paudie.
