“Best place to stay in Killarney!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013 via mobile

Well this is myself and my boyfriends time staying at this hotel. We wont stay anywhere else. We stayed for two nights, and originally it was meant to be the 25th and 26th April but we had to change the dates. So I rang, knowing how popular the hotel is I took a chance and asked if could have 26th and 27th April. The Saturday wasnt and so the lady on reception took my details to see if a cancellation would come up. Im not sure if one did but literally 2 minutes later my phone rang, one room was free on the Saturday night. They were very helpful. We went with b and b and one evening meal in the cellar one restaurant. The menu is so nice that were spoilt for choice. They has just gotten a new menu. I choose the duck, which I normally wouldn't go for and my boyfriend had cod. The starters were just as nice. We didnt have dessert, instead we chose to have some cocktails. They are really nice and made fresh, none of what youd get in a pub. They range from 7euro to 11euro but so worth it.
We went to the bar of the hotel on the friday night and had some more cocktails. My favourite was strawberry Tom Collins.
The restaurant manager was also very helpful, Bart is his name and he made sure we were well looked after.
The following evening we had dinner in the bar this is just as nice. There was a few hen parties on in bar on the Saturday evening but they were very well looked after.

The rooms are so nice and comfy also.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful stay we all had in your hotel this weekend.
From beginning to end your team were a pleasure to deal with.
You helped us to organise and celebrate a very special Aunts 60th Birthday and made it very memorable for us all indeed!
Thank you again for hospitality and warm welcome to Killarney.
I wish you and your team great success for the coming season and hope to see you all on our return visit.

A splendid find , hotel is very pretty and stylish and staff were extremely helpful , helped with carrying bags from car and up to room , breakfast was good too , maybe 8 out of 10 , bed was huge , what we needed as we have a small child who sleeps with us . As regards noise , it was a Sunday night , we asked for a quite room and it was very quite ( we were on 3rd floor ) ...wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place , very personable and individual ..... Do yourself a favour , stay here ....:)

We planned our trip to Ireland as we wanted to take my In-Laws away for their 40th Wedding Anniversay. After reading reviews and checking almost all hotels in Killarney, we decided to book The Ross. (Very fussy where we stay btw! Haha)
What a great decision this was!! The hotel is easy to find, as its right in the center & you can unload bags right out side the front doors. Parking is just a couple of minutes walk away, it's free too. Check-in was great, the staff where above and beyond friendly, and the hotel is modem & cosy. Yes, the rooms towards the back where we stayed backed onto a bar open late, but lets be honest when you come to Killarny the fresh air, walking & Guinness will make you sleep though anything, and we were back late every night so it didn't bother us.
Breakfast was lovely, we didn't eat in the hotel restaurant but we defiantly will do next time.....We can't wait to return & looking at flights as I type!!

Well done to the Ross! See you soon x

Room Tip: Ask to stay away from the back if you can, they will more than accommodate you.

This hotel is in the perfect spot to explore the city. It has a modern theme which is fun.
Pros: Location, free parking, breakfast was good.
Cons: The free parking is up the street at their sister hotel. No help available with bags that you have to double park to drop off. The room was showing quite a bit of wear. There were many things broke or that had bee raised poorly like the sink basin itself. The big con is this hotel backs up to two bars that are LOUD all night.

So if you are gong out to party stay here. Otherwise look elsewhere.

Dear Imperial_Eli,

Many thanks for your review on our hotel, The Ross. I am so very sorry that The Ross didnt live up to your expectations. If you would not mind contacting me directly to specifically advise what was exactly broken, that would be very helpful to us.
Thanks again for your honest review. I really hope overall you enjoyed Killarney and Kerry.

Best wishes,

I stayed at The Ross hotel for one night as part of a hen party. The hotel is beautiful, the decor is modern but cosy and comfortable. The room was huge as was the bathroom. The bed was super comfortable and the towels were a proper size for real sized people. The staff were lovely and very helpful. My only two tiny issues were 1. breakfast finished at 10am on Saturday morning (a little early for me) and 2. I felt the fruit selection at breakfast was poor.
Afternoon tea is also a must while your there.....

I stayed here recently on a girls break away and had an excellent experience. The hotel is right in the heart of Killarney town so the location is ideal. Have absolutely no complaints to make, everything was top class. The food was excellent, delicious breakfast made to order which was a lovely touch. The afternoon tea and dinner were also brilliant. Lovely bright, large and clean rooms. I think what really made our stay so good was the staff. They went out of their way to look after us all weekend and really showed that personal touch that can be so lacking in other hotels. They are a credit to the hotel. Cant wait to return!
