“A cost saver but quality Killarney Court Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

Date of stay: September 23, 2012
Purpose: Designated hotel for Britain and Ireland Explorer cost saver guided tour by Trafalgar (21 days).
Hotel location: Centrally located downtown with Centra or Super Mac grocery store across the street. Hotel has castle like appearance from the outside.
Hotel amenities: Has beautiful lobby, good and clean restaurant & bar, limited internet cafe at the lobby, wake-up call, free safe-keeping of valuables at front desk.
Room amenities: Clean room and beds, functional furniture, basic but classic furnishings, wi-fi internet connection, TV, telephone, kettle for boiling water, complimentary tea & coffee supply and a small bag of cookies, iron & ironing board, clean and functional bathroom with bath tub, basic bathroom supplies except face cloth which European hotels do not normally provide, hair dryer. While the hotel claims its tap water is safe to drink, we still boiled it first before for drinking.
Electric voltage: 220V which requires adapter & converter for 110V personal appliances. However, there's a 115V outlet marked "For shaver only" in the bathroom that I managed to use recharging my 110V shaver and double A rechargeable batteries for digital camera without using an adapter & converter.
Personal Comment: Having passed the criteria of Trafalgar to select this hotel for its very popular Britain and Ireland cost saver organized tour, value-for-money, we also recommend this hotel.

Just a short walk from town centre, this is a quaint old style hotel. Attentive and polite staff. Dinner was run of the mill, though. Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Overall a pleasant stay.

We have never been to this hotel before but upon arrival it was as though the staff were old friends, so helpful and attentive, always making sure everything was how we wished. Hotel breakfasts are notoriously poor, not this one fresh food coming out as required and not left heating for hours. Our exceptionaly good value package (5 nights) included an evening meal, this was an experience in itself, the hotel was very busy with tourists by the coach load, yet our meal was as though it had been prepared especially for us. It was not just the large portions but the quality of the food that suprised us especially as it was such a good deal.

Whilst there were a lot of guests in the hotel it did not interfere with the running of the hotel, nor was it noisy at anytime and there was always sufficient staff.

Our room was very comfortable and clean with an absoutely wonderful shower also a bath. The chambermaids were also very efficient and friendly. I could go on, we are in the hospitality industry ourselves and could not fault anything. Will definately come back on our next visit to Killarney. Miss Courtneys tea rooms is an absolute must as well.

Room Tip: Ask for end of passage so if hotel is busy no one has to pass your room. Not that we had any trouble

A Fantastic hotel where all the staff are professional helpful and friendly. The en suite bedroom was very comfortable and spacious, with well stocked tea and coffee making facility. The bathroom was very well appointed with constant hot water and lovely fluffy towells. The food in both the restaurant and the bar was excellent with a great choice of menu. The hotel is very near the centre of Killarney with its many shops cafes pubs and restaurants.Enjoy a night in one of the various venues offering traditional Irish music.Ride in a jaunting car, visit the Gap of Dunloe, drive round the Ring of Kerry where the scenery is captivating.(a photographers paradise.)We had a most relaxing and enjoyable holiday, and I have no hesitation in recommending The Killarney Court Hotel.Fantastic.

I stayed at the Killarney Court Hotel last week during a trip around Ireland. The hotel is situated about 15 minutes walk from the High Street which makes it well located for restaurants in the evening. The room was large with a particularly large bed - the addition of a top sheet rather than just the comforter would have made for a better night's sleep as the room became quite warm (even with the window open). The bathroom was exceptional for a hotel in this price range - it was marvelous with great bath products provided. I would recommend this hotel as good value for money.

Perfect location for those wanting convenient free parking. Close to town, but with easy in and out parking. The rooms are fine and food is good. Only complaint is the "free wireless internet" which requires a new password every 8 hours for every device. As photographers, we try to download new pics and found the internet speed a great help, but constantly updating the passwords was a hassle.

Room Tip: Our room faced a wall which was fine and quiet.

Dear nbrock, Thank you for posting a review of your recent stay with us at The Killarney Court Hotel. It is great to hear you enjoyed your stay and I am delighted that the internet speed was of a good quality. I am sorry about the code lasting for 8 hours but this is to avoid the system filling up too much and therefore reducing speed. I am actively looking at how we can improve our system as quick as possible. Thank you for your kind words, I hope to greet you again. Derek Carroll, General Manager.

We have stayed here before with friends but stayed recently with family. They wanted to stay in the city centre but we assured them this hotel would be better. Once again great value and service, and good to see that the staff are more or less the same people which says a lot about a place. We went on tour of the ring of kerry this time and left our mother and gran at hotel as they didnt want to be on a bus all day. They told us how all the staff were so pleasent espically Eamon who even gave them tea on the house as they sat in the lobby waiting for us to return. Such a great personal touch. Lovely guy. Again rooms were clean and comfortable. Food was great as were all the staff. For a 3 star rating the hotel is 5 star for service. Well done.

Room Tip: Try and get the 3rd floor away from noise from early coaches leaving
