We stayed at five B&Bs during our trip to Ireland and found Chelmsford to be the least welcoming place. Louise was not available except to serve breakfast and Pat seemed to resent our ringing him to ask questions. The B&B is undoubtedly clean and physically comfortable, but Louise and Pat have many rules that made us feel unwelcome. They forbid guests doing any laundry or leaving any trash, unless the trash was created in the room, such as a used tissue. They did not tell us they had a common room for guests to use, almost as if they hoped to keep it as unused as possible. We stayed three nights; one night we were cold because the heater in the room was not on, but we were decided not to disturb the hosts by asking for assistance, because of their attitude.

Excellent place to stay. Host/hostess second to none, lovely and clean and comfortable, breakfast delicious, wonderful views, Louise and Pat (proprietors) very kind and helpful arranged all tours. In a nut shell A++++++++++++++++++++++++

A really friendly family home, ideally located off the main roads but easy walking distance into Killarney. Comfortable, clean rooms serviced daily and beautiful views if you get a room at the front. Excellent breakfasts and helpful hosts who can book tours and show tickets for you. We had a great 5 days here and would return tomorrow if we could!

We are just back from a 6 night stay in Killarney, we stayed at the Chelmsford House in Muckross View , it was set on a hilltop about 10 minute walk to the center of town we had a large room with a balcony and a view looking on to the lake and mountains a great bed very good breakfasts my favorite was the pancakes I had them almost every day. The hosts were very friendly and helpful they booked tours for us one to the gap of Dunloe which I would recommend and we did the tour of the Ring of Kerry which was wonderful , we also got to see Riverdance Louise had tickets for sale for all the local shows. I would like to recommend this bed and breakfast as I had read reviews about it on trip adviser. They also have internet access which meant we were able to keep in touch with the folks back home without looking for an internet cafe.
We had a great night out on Monday night at the white gates hotel the locals all go set dancing it was great to watch.
