I have traveled the ring of Kerry many times and also the ring of Beare, follow these tips and you wont go wrong. Start your journey in Tralee head for Killorgan and then on to Glenbeigh you are now entering the ring on the proper side. Vital points to stop off along the way. 1 Valencia Island, visit the light house cafe for coffee and take in the tranquility. 2 Waterville this was frequently visited by Charlie Chaplin you will see his statue in the town center, also Payne Stewart US golfer was a frequent visitor to the world famous golf course a monument to him is erected on the course.3 Caherdaniel the home of Daniel O'Connell the Liberator, visit his homestead and the beautiful surrounding beach. Plenty of other spots along the way eg Molls Gap and Ladys view etc.
Now you have a choice either head to Killarney through the national park and its breathtaking views and rest here for the night, or go straight to Kenmare and rest in this beautiful town for the night.
DAY 2 Go over Healys pass to the ring of Beare stop off in Castletown Bear for lunch and on to Dorsey plenty of viewing points along the way to keep you occupied so stop off and take your time. If you haven't visited Killarney you can go back through Kilgarven make sure you dont miss the Town of Sneem either way. If you have visited Killarney go straight to Bantry and home by Cork City. Wonderful sights await you on this Journey to Cork get a map and pick as you want. This is a long drive but well worth while and 2 days will give you plenty of time to view all, you can break it up into 2 sepretate days if you wish.
