First visit to Galway after a long flight to Dublin from Atlanta. After arriving at the Galway bus depot, we began our trek up College Road to the B&B's we passed coming in. First one was full and we were sent to the Balcony House. Met hostess Teresa Coyne and she was very accomodating. A room for three was immediately made available, and after a change of clothes we were ready to see the sights. At this point Teresa turned into a travel agent and recommended places to eat and shop. When we mentioned we wanted to visit the Cliffs of Moher, she arranged for the tour bus to pick us up in front of the Balcony House the next morning, saving the walk into downtown Galway! Breakfast was excellent! If you are used to the rooms and food in the U.S. Hotels, then this may not be your cup of tea (no pun intended). As the saying goes, "when in Rome...". But since this was only a place to clean up and rest after a long day, you can't beat it. And for 45 Euros per person, the price beat any hotel in the area. I highly recommend the Balcony House for a good night's rest and excellent Irish breakfast.
