Description: Ard Bia at Nimmos restaurant in Galway City enjoys one of Galways most romantic locations in a gorgeous upstairs room with lovely views of the river, hard by the Spanish Arch. This restaurant is famous in Galway and beyond for the stupendous quality of its cuisine and its professional and welcoming service, all in a charming setting. The dcor is rustic boho chic with quirky details. You might find fresh local garden blooms on your table in a tin coffee pot, for instance. The seasonally-changing Irish/Moroccan/North African eclectic menu blows you away with dishes like the Gubeen antipasto dish, all made with the finest and freshest of local ingredients. Ard Bias commitment to live and modern art make it a happening place, though if you just want to come for the great food and service and see why the restaurant won Regional Restaurant of the Year from Food & Wine Magazine, no one will mind.

“One of the best places to eat in Ireland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

I love this restaurant because the staff are charming and friendly (not like a they are trained to be ) but because they are. The food is always good.

Locally sourced foods, so the menu changes from day to day. full of nooks and crannies - it was even better when Harriot had the place - but don't miss it -.unless you like corporate places to stay.

“Fab Night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

In a previous review I described Kirwan's Lane as probably the best restaurant in Galway but after a super meal in Nimmo's on Saturday night I think this will closely rival it. I dined in a group of four upstairs and we all really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the place itself. It's a pretty quirky little place and the staff were so nice. We had four different starters and for mains two steaks, one brill and one lobster - all delicious. A good wine list, all pretty reasonable and overall I would highly recommend it. Go!

Nyum nyum nyum! Food awesome! Staff cool and friendly, I asked a waiter the recipe of a seed dip they make for their bread and he happily rhymed it off for me. I can't wait to return. Atmosphere beautiful

“Great location, fantastic food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

We ate here on our last night of four in Galway. We had decided that we would reserve our last night to go back to the one we voted as best from the previous three nights (all the others were very good too). Luckily we changed our plan because this restaurant was amazing. There were two people front of house who were extremely efficient but still made time to have a friendly chat with you. Nothing was too much trouble. The setting was great. We were sat in a window seat looking out onto the river. The food was something else. The torn lamb was so flavoursome. For main courses we had fish and steal. Both absolutely excellent, but the beetroot and pomegranate risotto was outstanding! I would advise booking as this is a fairly small restaurant and although the staff tried to fit people in if they could, a few people were turned away disappointed.
