It has been about two weeks ago since we have stayed in this wonderful hotel, a little outside the centre of Galway. This hotel is not located in the centre of Galway, but it is very easy to get there. As there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, where the bus passes every 15 minutes. (To the centre -- Eyre Square-- it is 1,45€). We were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome at the reception. The staff makes you feel comfortable and is very helpful.
The rooms were clean and pretty large, with a bath as well as a shower. Every day when we came back from Galway city centre or any of the other day tours we made, the beds were made and there were fresh towels, great service!
The restaurant of the hotel was very good and the free continental breakfast served each morning, was nice and extensive. It was also possible to have an Irish breakfast from the menu. We've had a great stay here in Galway! Recommended to everyone!

Found this hotel while looking for a base to explore the Connemara area. Have to say it was really nice, cosy small hotel.
We arrived on the Saturday afternoon around 1 and pleasantly surprised to find our room ready. We called to confirm the room and the girl Susan was really nice and friendly, and said she would try have the room ready but there would be somewhere to leave bags if not. So when we arrived on the Saturday afternoon around 1 and pleasantly surprised to find our room ready.
The room is a decent size, comfortable with all the mod cons! I would recommend asking for a room without an interconnecting door, incase your neighbours are as nosiy as ours!
Service was a bit slow in parts, ie there was a wait for someone in reception, and waiting for food but i couldn't fault the staff in any way shape or form as they were very very helpful and friendly throughout!
If your looking for a base or to be a few mins drive from the city - i'd highly recommend the hotel.

A gem. Great location. Powerful shower ( Always a must for me ). Food top notch. Lovely Galway races pictures & history. Best bed I've ever slept in away from home. Rip off Ireland hasn't reached Racing Lodge. SUPERB.

lovely little hotel on the outskirts of galway, it feels like a family run place. we stayed for one night, during the week but ended up staying an extra two nights. rooms feel new, flat screen tvs, throws and strange as it may be they even provide faceclothes a rareity these days. we had food in the bar which was great and not too expensive, all staff are really friendly and always laughing with locals and guests. the only draw back would be the building site across the road but this is minor. will be back every time we can.

Stayed here before last christmas. was difficult to find and the approach road was poor. arrived to the lobby to be greeted with a wonderful smile from a short, brown-haired receptionist. our room was spacious and tastefully decorated. had dinner in the restaurant which was amazing. the bar was full of interesting characters who made us feel like we were at home eventhough they had destroyed the nice floor with their muddy boots. the nice receptionist, edel, joined us in the bar after work and she played the guitar like christy moore.
will be returning soon, hope they haven't changed too much. wonderful place we could not speak highly enough of. well done to all....
