“Not a five star hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

I've read the previous reviews on this b&b and felt a little nervous about going. Having stayed there 26th October for three nights I needn't have worried. It's not a five star hotel with all their facilities, it's a little Irish b&b if you accept that you will have good experience . The young man who runs it most of the time really works hard to make your stay a good one and nothing is to much trouble, even advising which coach tours to take to get a good grounding of the area.
My only negative comment is that the breakfast table could be displayed better, but it's made up for the free internet, and wifi ,there is also free drinks in the guests lounge with 40 inch tv, which is basically yours as no one watches .
The owner was there in the mornings and is very genial and will advise you on the area and cheapest options. Well done Thomas and Sam.

Room Tip: Get a room on the front of the house wonderful views of the bay.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed in the B&B for 4 nights in September. We really enjoyed our stay there, lovely and spotless room plus friendly and welcoming staff. Great location not far from the city centre and is perfect for a walk along the beach. The room had all the facilities and the bed was comfortable. I would recommend this place if people were looking for a decent B&B

Good location overlooking the Bay of Galway with great views. However attention to detail was lacking as our stay progressed for example dirty cups not being replaced or milk provisions replenished. Floor remained unswept throughout our stay, toilet not cleaned and clean towels were damp. In addition stray hairs found on the bed was not pleasant.
On a day to day basis an Eastern European young man manages the hotel. He was pleasant and polite but not the Irish "family-run" hotel we were expecting.
Would I stay here again or recommend this guest house to others? I would have to answer honestly and say no I would not.

Room Tip: First floor front double bedroom has great views and is light and airy with no problems regarding no...

We wanted to stay at the Atlantic View during our honeymoon. On the first look it was okay but on the second it wasn't clean, there was some kind of dirt or mould at the corners of the windows. The guy (owner?) who welcomed us was very unfriendly as well. We felt that uncomfortable that we left without staying

We had a dreadful experience here 2 weeks ago. The sheets on our bed were badly soiled (blood stained) and we only discovered this AFTER we had slept in the bed. The owner insisted the sheets were clean but obviously were not checked and up to standard when the bed was made. When we complained to the owner, she took just €10 euro off the room price (€110 down to the bargain price of €100) and when we told her we would not pay, she had our credit card details for the initial booking so she would have taken it anyhow. Extremely unpleasant experience and a terrible attitude to have in the hospitality industry.

Myself and my husband's family took up 3 rooms here in July for one night. We found the owners to be very accommodating and they even went out and purchased a travel cot for our daughter as their other one was already being used.

The rooms we were allocated were quite small but this is to be expected really in a b&b. They were sufficient though and we loved that we had a little balcony which we could sit out on and look out at Galway Bay.

The owners and staff were all very friendly and helpful and I would recommend this place if people were looking for a decent B&B.

Room Tip: One with a balcony is a real treat!

We stayed for one night on a tour of western Ireland. We had until 10 pm to check in. They called us twice to ensure we were coming. When the booking was made we explained we would be driving from the Northwestern part of the country. We got rushed through the check in process. I was not impressed. We have one person with an allergy and they could not guarantee if they could accommodate his meal request. We were told to ask in the am. My room was 109 euros and not worth it. It was small and cramped. For that amount I would have rather stayed in a hotel (I did not book it). The location is nice. You can see Galaway Bay

Hi , you booked through Booking.com and we were not told in advance that you were going to arrive late , we called you once at 8.30 pm to check on your time of arrival , When your party arrived you said that you may have breakfast in the morning ,and you were told that there was a good selection of breakfast choices available , as you said that one of your party had an allergy to certain type of foods, no body from your party came to the dining room in the morning , hence we did not get the opportunity to provide you with breakfast.
You state that the check in was fast , I tried to speed up the process for the party as at this stage it was 9.30 , and restaurants are pretty busy at this time of the year
Regards
Management.
