In Feb 2007 my partner and I made out third trip to Galway in as many
years. It's a place we can both get something out of so we keep going
back and undoubtedly will keep doing so. Having got a feel for the city itself and stayed in a couple of less appealing hotels this time we went for The House Hotel. We'd seen some good reviews and there were some pretty good deals at the time. We loved it.
The location is great, near everything you would want to see in Galway. The hotel itself is fab. It has a very low key entrance - which arriving on a Saturday night when there was a private party in the bar threw us a bit as no staff were around. That said, we got a warm welcome when the staff reappeared and all was good from there. The room was just great. Quirky things like curly wurly in the mini bar and lovely comfy bed with everything luxuriously white and soft colours. Even my partner who cares neither way about where we stay was impressed. It felt like a real treat to a couple who tend to stay
in much more budget hotels usually. The other things we liked were having parking included and the indulgent and varied breakfasts.
If you can get a good deal you should give this place a go.
