This hotel is wonderful!!

The décor is funky and quirky. The toilet door is glass! (Don’t worry though, its frosted). The room is fairly small but well equipped. It even has a tuck box filled with sweets and nibbles.

The customer service is also very special. We went out for dinner in the evening and when we returned to our room we found that the curtains had been closed, slippers had been placed by the bed, the bed was turned down, there was Jazz playing on the TV and we had a sweet each!

Breakfast was included and it was delicious. There is a cold continental breakfast including smoked salmon and prosciutto, plus a cooked breakfast which is made to order. The first morning I had pancakes and the second day I had eggs Benedict, both were amazing.

It is located very close to the city centre and also to the docks. Finding it I however was rather hard and it doesn’t have any car parking facilities. Although a car park is very close by and they have a deal with the owners so it’s only 8 euros a day.

Please don’t let the Cat logo and branding put you off, this is a brilliant hotel.

I just spent 10 mins typing a very long and very positive review, and my computer turned itself off...So to summarise, pretty much everything said below is true, apart from the review from the one uber picky person! Great hotel, great service!
PS-Just a couple of things, if unfamiliar with Galway, phone in advance for directions and info about car parking. If anyone wants a more extensive review please contact me.

This is a wonderful find - it has so much going for it:
- location, super for exploring the City
- accomodation - rooms nice size, comfortable,
- lovely breakfast
- great price

overall - good value for money, very relaxing and enjoyable place to stay!

We stayed in the House Hotel for 2 nights and were delighted with all aspects of our stay. In particular, the staff were brilliant - friendly without being overbearing and extremely competent. Our room was compact but so well designed as to not seem small. There was a glass door to the bathroom which might not be to some guests tastes but which we didn't mind. Loved the small but important touches such as the turndown services, and the sweet treats left in the evening. Breakfast on both mornings was just delicious. We also had a very tasty lunch in the seated area near reception - which is very comfortable and quiet. All in all, the house hotel is an unexpected treat in the heart of Galway - you're only a 3 minute walk from shop street. Note that it is quiet difficult to access if you are driving but if you call up the hotel they'll tell you all you need to know with regards to parking, directions etc. They couldn't be more helpful. Highly recommended.
