Stayed in this hotel recently with my partner for one night. I can not rate it highly enough. everything about our stay here was perfect. The staff were excellent so friendly and helpful. the shower in the bathroom is brilliant....i want one!!!!!! the bed was so comfy... fluffy duvets and pillows had a great nights sleep didnt hear any noise whatsoever.
fluffy bathrobes & slippers, l'Occitane toiletries, mini bar & snacks all added to our perfect weekend.
Great location, less than 5 minutes from Shop street and just around the corner from all the bars on Quay street, we ate in a really nice Italian just across from the Quays bar, & McDonaghs chip shop is around the corner....you have to try the fish and chips!!!!!
there are Opaque doors on the toilet with a gap around all the door which doesnt leave for much privacy & no lock. it didnt bother me but for others it might.
Will be staying in this hotel again, it was just brilliant. Yes it is expensive (€180 a night) but in my opinion it is well well worth it.

I stayed in the House Hotel for the weekend with my partner. He had brought me there for a treat and it was certainly a treat.
The hotel is beautiful and quirky and there are a lot of nice touches. From the beautiful rooms to designer-feel lobby, to the petite-fours left by the bed each night. Everything about the hotel was wonderful.
The staff were extremely pleasant and made our stay all the more enjoyable. We ate in the restaurant on one evening and the food was divine. However my only complaint would be about the restaurant manager and assistant manager. We had npt planned to eat in the hotel so had not booked a table. When we asked for a table we were greeted with hostility. We were told they would need the table back after an hour and a half which was not a problem for us. However the manager and assistant manager were rude and cold throughout the meal and genuinely seemed to be put-out by us being there. We also got the distinct feeling that they were "looking down their noses" at us. This seemed out of order as we ordered a bottle of champaigne and were treating ourseleves.
Overall I would recommend the House Hotel as it is one of the most charming Irish hotels I have stayed in in recent years, despite the poor service and hostility in the restaurant.

They advertise it as your home away from home, if I had my way, I would never go back to my real home!
Stayed here for a weekend and its was the best. The rooms are small, but clean, great staff and a really enjoyable restaurant. We will definately be back, maybe even move in!

We stayed here one friday night in early January and enjoyed it immensely. We had to switch rooms as the smell of stale smoke in the non-smoking rooms was really strong..disgusting. The staff members were very kind and very much on the ball. We were moved into another room and it was perfect if a little small. We had a great night's sleep in the lovely king size bed and didn't hear any noise at all. The big plus for me was the shower..OMG! I didn't want to leave it..it was so powerful and the l'occitaine products were a surprise touch. The design was very modern..very cool and you get the sense you are staying in a really trendy cosmopolitan city which Galway is of course. We ate in the hotel that evening and the food was excellent so I'd recommend having dinner there before going out and exploring the many pubs and cafes close by. You won't find a better location in the heart of the city with a bit of class but 5 stars? not sure it makes the grade...

We stayed here for new years eve. It is a nice hotel and conveniently located but don't think it's worth the full price. We had a special rate of 170 euros a night for a comfy room but would not have been happy to pay the full whack.

Room was a bit small. Bed was a bit uncomfortable and there was a lot of noise from the air conditioning unit on the roof outside the room (we were on the top floor). Staff did shut down the air conditioning unit on our second night alright but couldn't move us because the hotel was full.

On the positive side - bath robes, excellent staff (the lift was broken so someone took our bags up to the room for us), night time treats etc. If they only had more comfy beds and quieter rooms and it was a little cheaper it would be perfect.

It's a nice hotel but I am sure there must be better value in Galway - although accomodation can be expensive here unfortunately
