We stayed here one friday night in early January and enjoyed it immensely. We had to switch rooms as the smell of stale smoke in the non-smoking rooms was really strong..disgusting. The staff members were very kind and very much on the ball. We were moved into another room and it was perfect if a little small. We had a great night's sleep in the lovely king size bed and didn't hear any noise at all. The big plus for me was the shower..OMG! I didn't want to leave it..it was so powerful and the l'occitaine products were a surprise touch. The design was very modern..very cool and you get the sense you are staying in a really trendy cosmopolitan city which Galway is of course. We ate in the hotel that evening and the food was excellent so I'd recommend having dinner there before going out and exploring the many pubs and cafes close by. You won't find a better location in the heart of the city with a bit of class but 5 stars? not sure it makes the grade...

We stayed here for new years eve. It is a nice hotel and conveniently located but don't think it's worth the full price. We had a special rate of 170 euros a night for a comfy room but would not have been happy to pay the full whack.

Room was a bit small. Bed was a bit uncomfortable and there was a lot of noise from the air conditioning unit on the roof outside the room (we were on the top floor). Staff did shut down the air conditioning unit on our second night alright but couldn't move us because the hotel was full.

On the positive side - bath robes, excellent staff (the lift was broken so someone took our bags up to the room for us), night time treats etc. If they only had more comfy beds and quieter rooms and it was a little cheaper it would be perfect.

It's a nice hotel but I am sure there must be better value in Galway - although accomodation can be expensive here unfortunately

  • Liked — bathrobes, night time treats, excellent staff
  • Disliked — uncomfortable beds, noise

Nice hotel. Great location and I liked all the little luxuries. l'Occitane products in the bathrooms and beds turned down at night....however, the hotel was so noisy. The nightclub/late bar goes on til 2 and we could hear it all over the place.. Asked to be moved but hotel was full. lift was broken for the whoole weekend too which made it difficult to lug bags up and down stairs. At the prices they charge this is unacceptable. Food in restaurant was ok but restaurants down shop street are much better. I recommend Martinas wine bar.

Stayed at the house hotel for 1 night B&B. Got a good deal with bookinhotel.com 99 euro B&B. Stayed in the Comfy room.
Reception area is lovely but not much privacy when checking in. lots of guests hanging around as it is an open plan reception.
Staff are very friendly and cant help you enough.
On arrival at room had a bad experience with coffee machine, the lid blew off and coffee was sprayed everywhere. Comfy rooms are much to small though they are beautifully decorated with plush wardrobes and all your needs are catered for. plush bathrobes and slippers. bottle of wine. mini fridge. hairdryer. etc.
Bathroom is tiny you need to be a size 8 to fit in shower - doors open outwards and lots of water tends to pool on the floor. Opaque doors on toilet are nice but theres a gap around all the door which doesnt leave for much privacy.
Breakfast very good in the morning. Staff very efficient.
Parking here is a problem. Hynes car park was full when we arrived so we had to park in Jurys car park around the corner.
This causes a lot of hassle when trying to bring luggage over and back to hotel. No porters available for help of any kind.
All in all a lovely clean hotel. But I would not pay full price for comfy room - much much to small for comfort. Try the larger rooms im sure you wont be disappointed as this is clearly a great hotel and in a great location.

Stayed here for a Friday night whilst visting family. The room was really nice if a wee bit on the small side. The mood lighting, fluffy bathrobes and slippers were a nice surprise after a days travelling. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when we had stayed out a bit too late and and had to ask for a late check out the following morning! Location is ideal for the town centre and all its attractions. Breaksfast was superb the next morning. Unlike most hotels the portions were just right, not too much so that you felt that you couldn't move afterwards. One thing to mentiom about the bathroom was that we had to let the shower run for a few minutes until the hot water came through. Once it did, it was fine (and was fine the next morning) - maybe it was because we were in a room at the end of a corridor. Parking was close to hand at 8 Euro for 24 hours which isn't bad either.

We normally stay at Jury's when we go to Galway but couldn't get in this year so tried this place based on reviews. It's a bit pricier but you definitely get what you pay for and we would definitely stay there again.
