Stayed at the house hotel for 1 night B&B. Got a good deal with bookinhotel.com 99 euro B&B. Stayed in the Comfy room.
Reception area is lovely but not much privacy when checking in. lots of guests hanging around as it is an open plan reception.
Staff are very friendly and cant help you enough.
On arrival at room had a bad experience with coffee machine, the lid blew off and coffee was sprayed everywhere. Comfy rooms are much to small though they are beautifully decorated with plush wardrobes and all your needs are catered for. plush bathrobes and slippers. bottle of wine. mini fridge. hairdryer. etc.
Bathroom is tiny you need to be a size 8 to fit in shower - doors open outwards and lots of water tends to pool on the floor. Opaque doors on toilet are nice but theres a gap around all the door which doesnt leave for much privacy.
Breakfast very good in the morning. Staff very efficient.
Parking here is a problem. Hynes car park was full when we arrived so we had to park in Jurys car park around the corner.
This causes a lot of hassle when trying to bring luggage over and back to hotel. No porters available for help of any kind.
All in all a lovely clean hotel. But I would not pay full price for comfy room - much much to small for comfort. Try the larger rooms im sure you wont be disappointed as this is clearly a great hotel and in a great location.

Stayed here for a Friday night whilst visting family. The room was really nice if a wee bit on the small side. The mood lighting, fluffy bathrobes and slippers were a nice surprise after a days travelling. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when we had stayed out a bit too late and and had to ask for a late check out the following morning! Location is ideal for the town centre and all its attractions. Breaksfast was superb the next morning. Unlike most hotels the portions were just right, not too much so that you felt that you couldn't move afterwards. One thing to mentiom about the bathroom was that we had to let the shower run for a few minutes until the hot water came through. Once it did, it was fine (and was fine the next morning) - maybe it was because we were in a room at the end of a corridor. Parking was close to hand at 8 Euro for 24 hours which isn't bad either.

We normally stay at Jury's when we go to Galway but couldn't get in this year so tried this place based on reviews. It's a bit pricier but you definitely get what you pay for and we would definitely stay there again.

Just back from a weekend at "the house". Booked hotel purely on tripadvisor reviews & was not disappointed.
All staff are extremely pleasant & seem genuinely happy to see you, we were offered assistance with our baggage & receptionist was aware that I had booked hotel for our anniversary & was quick to congratulate us, a nice touch. An even nicer touch was the bottle of complimentary wine in our room!
If you can afford it, go for the "classy" room. Nice and spacious on the top floor. Rooms are v.nice, internet access through television & all the usual facilities you'd expect. Frosted bathroom door not a problem for us, we are married after all!
Breakfast is fantastic, you have to try the pancakes & bacon. The buffet was plentiful & all fruit was available, even at this time of year. We had strawberries & yoghurt to begin & before we sat down the waiter had removed the bowl to refill it, even though there was still plenty in it. Refreshing to see. We dropped in at lunch to leave some shopping bags & refresh, the bars lunch menu is v.good & we were pleasantly surprised. Before heading out for the night we had a quick drink at the bar & nuts were immediately made available to us, usually you have to pay for them in pubs across Ireland.
Location is fantastic, just a short stroll to the main bar area (Spanich Arch) in the city. Parking is not on-site but location isn't too far away & free so not an issue really.
All in all a fantastic hotel which we will be back to early in the new year.

The House Hotel in Galway was everything I expected. The room was luxurious but smallish. Fantastic bathroom - the door was a bit transparent but was out of vision so not really a problem. The food was great and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were professional, friendly and helpful and the surroundings and furnishings were extremely stylish. The location was ideal, I went out on my own and walked around Galway as the location was central. The parking was reduced rate and down the road. No problems with noise and you are ideally placed to enjoy Galway nightlife. Great hotel and great city!

When we arrived, per a driver, we were given a cold reception, had to almost force eye contact, check in people had snotty attitude. Got to wondering why we were there, after all, who was serving who? No assistance with luggage offered or provided. Expecting a well appointed room, compared to other photos, ours was small, spare. But clean. Did not particularly like glass door to bathroom, also the shower was glass and clever, but leaked all over the floor and we used most of our towels sopping up the shower leaks. Great, close location to Old Galway within easy walking distance. Had a beautiful breakfast buffet every morning, also ordered off the menu. Great, but tired, wait staff who were friendly and helpful. General complaint about this hotel is that the overhead music was odd, edgy, and way too loud in the lobby and restaurant.

  • Liked — location, cleanliness of room, friendly restaurant breakfast staff
  • Disliked — snooty front desk people
